Why I Write Stories That Chase You Back
When I sit down to write, I’m not just trying to put words on a page—I’m trying to chase something down. A feeling. A memory. A question I can’t stop asking myself. And sometimes, a character who refuses to let me rest until I figure them out.
That’s what happened with Chasing Kane. The story started as an idea about a man caught between who he was and who he wanted to be. But soon, Kane wasn’t just a character—he was a voice in my head, pulling me along, forcing me to see the world through his eyes. Then came Chasing Avi, and suddenly, the chase wasn’t just about Kane anymore. It was about love, risk, and what we’re willing to give up for both.
For me, writing is about chasing the story—but also about letting the story chase me. It’s a two-way pursuit. And I think that’s why readers connect with it: because deep down, we’re all chasing something.
I’d love to hear from you—what’s the last book you read that chased you back long after you put it down?
Until next time,
—Nate Wilson

The Book Series I Fell in Love With Most Recently
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of finding a series that completely sweeps you off your feet. For me, that most recent “can’t-put-it-down” obsession was Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.
I’d heard people recommend it for years, but once I finally picked it up, I realized why it has such a devoted following. The world-building, the magic, the slow-burn character arcs—it all hooked me from the very first book. I loved watching Celaena’s journey unfold, not just as an assassin, but as a character grappling with identity, loyalty, and strength in a world that’s constantly testing her.
What surprised me most was how the series grew with every book. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it expanded into something much larger and more epic than I could have imagined. By the time I reached the final installment, I wasn’t just invested in the main characters—I was deeply attached to the entire cast.
It’s rare to find a series that makes you laugh, ache, and hold your breath all at once, but Throne of Glass did exactly that for me.
Now I’m curious—what’s the last series you fell completely in love with?

A Heartfelt Thank You
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review for my book. Whether it was a few lines, a detailed reflection, or even just a quick rating—you’ve made such a difference.
As an author, seeing your words, your reactions, and your honesty means more than I can say. Every review helps other readers discover the story, but beyond that, it reminds me why I write in the first place: to connect. To share something that moves someone, even if just for a chapter.
I read each review carefully (sometimes more than once!), and I can’t tell you how much joy and encouragement they bring. Writing can feel like such a solitary journey, but your feedback turns it into a shared one.
So, from the bottom of my heart—thank you. If you haven’t left a review yet but are thinking about it, know that even a short note is deeply appreciated and helps more than you might realize.
Here’s to more stories, more conversations, and more connections through the pages.
With gratitude,
Nate Wilson

Chasing Stories, Finding Inspiration
Hello friends,
I’ve been reflecting lately on what makes a story worth telling. For me, it’s always about the people—their struggles, choices, and the moments when they risk everything for what they love most. That’s what drives my writing, and it’s what I hope connects with you when you pick up my books.
When I wrote Chasing Kane, I poured so much of myself into Kane’s relentless pursuit of truth. And with Chasing Avi, I wanted to explore what happens when love, loyalty, and risk all collide in unexpected ways. Both books have been journeys for me as much as for the characters—teaching me about resilience, sacrifice, and the power of human connection.
Right now, I’m diving into the next story, one that will bring new places, new challenges, and yes, some familiar faces. Inspiration has a funny way of showing up—sometimes in a conversation, sometimes in a song, and sometimes just in the quiet of everyday life.
I’d love to hear from you—what kinds of stories pull you in the most? Do you find yourself drawn to high-stakes thrillers, slow-burn romances, or something in between?
Thank you, as always, for being here. Your support means the world, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
Until then,
Nate Wilson

Chasing Morgan is Coming Sooner Than You Think
The chase continues...
For those who joined me on the journey with Chasing Kane, I have exciting news—Chasing Morgan is coming sooner than you think. I’ve been working quietly behind the scenes, and I can finally say the next installment in the series is almost here.
This story picks up the threads left behind, dives deeper into the world you’ve already come to know, and introduces a new layer of mystery, intensity, and raw emotion. Without giving too much away, Chasing Morgan will bring you closer to the characters you love while also pushing them into challenges they never imagined facing.
If you thought Chasing Kane kept you turning pages late into the night, just wait. Chasing Morgan raises the stakes and asks the question: how far will someone go when everything they care about is on the line?
The official cover reveal is right around the corner, but for now, consider this your first heads-up: the wait won’t be long. Stay tuned—updates are coming fast, and I can’t wait to share this book with you.
Make sure you’re following me on Instagram (@natewilson_author) and subscribed to my newsletter so you don’t miss the reveal and release details.
The chase isn’t over. In fact, it’s only getting started

Why I Wrote Chasing Kane
When I first sat down to write Chasing Kane, I didn’t set out to create just another thriller. I wanted to write something that felt raw, unpredictable, and full of life—the kind of story where the characters breathe on the page and keep you guessing at every turn.
For me, thrillers are about more than just twists. They’re about people—the choices they make, the secrets they hide, and the way their lives collide in unexpected ways. That’s what makes them real. That’s what makes them unforgettable.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reflecting on what readers have shared with me: how they connected with Kane, how the ending caught them off guard, and how they couldn’t put the book down. Hearing those words means the world to me, because it means the story did exactly what I hoped it would—keep you hooked from page one to the very end.
If you’ve read Chasing Kane, thank you for coming along on this wild ride with me. If you haven’t yet, maybe this is your sign to dive in. And for those waiting on what’s next—let’s just say the chase isn’t over.
I’d love to hear from you: what do you look for in a thriller? Is it the characters, the twists, or the heart-racing pace that keeps you turning the pages? Drop your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to chat!

The Journey Behind My Stories
I’ve always believed that the best stories don’t just come to us — they chase us down. They linger in our minds long before we ever put them to paper, whispering in quiet moments, tugging at us in ways we can’t ignore.
For me, that’s exactly how Chasing Kane and Chasing Avi were born. They weren’t just ideas — they were pieces of my own experiences, shaped by the people I’ve met, the places I’ve traveled, and the emotions I’ve carried.
When I started writing, I didn’t set out to create a series. I simply wanted to tell a story about resilience, risk, and the complicated choices that come when life demands more of us than we thought we could give. But once Kane’s journey was out in the world, I realized there was another voice waiting to be heard — Avi’s. And that’s when the second book came alive.
Writing for me has never been about perfectly plotting everything from the start. It’s more like surfing — catching a wave of inspiration, riding it as far as I can, and trusting that the next one will come when it’s ready. (And yes, sometimes that means a lot of paddling in between.)
If you’ve read either of the books, you already know they’re more than thrillers — they’re about connection. The kind that can change your direction entirely.
To everyone who’s taken the time to read, review, or even just send me a message about how the story touched them — thank you. Authors often write alone, but stories truly live when they’re shared.
Until the next chapter,
Nate Wilson

Summer Adventures, New Pages, and What’s Next
Hey everyone,
I hope this post finds you well—and maybe with a good book in hand. I’ve been soaking up the last stretch of summer, and it’s reminded me why I love writing stories that take you somewhere. Whether it’s a bustling city street, a quiet stretch of coastline, or the deck of a boat heading toward the unknown, I want every page to feel like an adventure worth chasing.
For those who’ve read Chasing Kane and Chasing Avi—thank you. Your messages, reviews, and even random Instagram tags make my day. You’re the reason these characters keep finding their way back onto the page. I’ve been deep in the early stages of the next book, and let’s just say there’s more travel, higher stakes, and a few surprises I think you’ll love.
Outside of writing, I’ve been inspired by real-life places and moments that might just sneak their way into future chapters. I’ve learned that the best ideas often come when you’re not looking for them—walking along a pier, watching the waves, or even during those quiet, late-night hours when the world is still.
So, here’s to the next chapter—both on the page and in life. Thanks for being part of this journey. I can’t wait to share more with you soon.

Chasing Stories That Matter
Hey everyone,
I’m Nate Wilson—author of the Chasing Kane series—and I want to say thanks for stopping by. Whether you’ve just picked up Chasing Kane, finished Chasing Avi, or you’re eagerly waiting for Chasing Morgan, I’m glad you’re here.
I write adventure stories inspired by my own love for the ocean, travel, and the kind of moments that make you stop and really feel alive. My books are filled with scuba diving, sailing, and escapes to places where the water’s clear and the stakes are high—not just externally, but within.
The Chasing Kane series is more than just an action-packed journey—it’s about what happens when you hit your limits, when you start questioning everything, and when the only way forward is through the unknown. I write in first person and often use stream-of-consciousness because I want readers to feel like they’re right there in the moment—experiencing the salt in the air, the pull of the past, and the chase toward something deeper.
I’m heavily inspired by the rhythms of Bob Marley, the soul of Jimmy Cliff and Jimmy Buffett, and the depth of Hemingway and Norman Maclean. After losing my best friend at thirty, my view on life changed. I realized the most meaningful stories come from real connection—friendship, family, and the pursuit of a life well lived.
Though I live in the mountains of northern Colorado, I make it a point to dive twice a year—to reconnect, reset, and draw inspiration. Writing these stories is my way of bringing that spirit of adventure and reflection to readers like you.
Thanks for being part of the journey. I hope my books inspire you to chase something of your own.
Until next time,
– Nate Wilson

Why Book Reviews Are Essential for Authors
As an author, your connection with readers goes beyond just writing the book. Reviews play a critical role in your success, and here’s why they’re so important:
1. Build Credibility
When readers see a book with multiple reviews—good or bad—it signals that people are engaging with your work. Positive reviews build trust, encouraging new readers to take a chance on your book. Even constructive criticism shows that your book is being discussed, which builds visibility.
2. Boost Visibility
Platforms like Amazon or Goodreads use reviews as part of their algorithms to recommend books. The more reviews your book has, the more likely it is to appear in “Recommended” or “Readers Also Enjoyed” sections. This increased exposure can lead to more sales and new fans.
3. Help You Improve
Reviews can give you direct feedback from your audience. While it’s never easy to hear criticism, thoughtful reviews can offer insights into what readers loved or didn’t connect with in your story. This can be valuable as you work on sequels or future books, like Chasing Avi.
4. Word of Mouth Marketing
When someone takes the time to leave a review, they’re more likely to recommend your book to others. Reviews spread organically, and each one acts as a small endorsement, helping to build momentum for your book.
Encouraging your readers to leave reviews not only supports your writing but helps grow your audience and reach new readers. So, after finishing Chasing Kane, a quick review can make all the difference!
