Which Streaming Hardware is Best to Play Church Videos?

There are many different streaming hardware options for churches. It can be difficult to know which is the best one for your Kids Ministry. Many of the terms used are gibberish to most of us, which makes it difficult to pin down exactly what we need from a device and decide which is the best. Roku, Apple TV, or Fire Stick? Read our helpful comparison for streaming your church videos. Then, you can choose for yourself (or take our expert opinion)!

Timeless Values of the Orange Strategy

One day years from now, chances are you are going to be talking to other children’s and youth pastors, and say something like this,

“I was there when the pandemic happened.”

Isn’t it true that many of us who have lived through this have had a little bit of an identity crisis when it comes to ministry and what we do because what we have done for years suddenly doesn’t work anymore?

And while this has been an incredibly frustrating time to be in ministry, it actually demonstrates an important pri...

The Orange Strategy Roadmap

If you’ve taken the Family Ministry Assessment, you’re probably ready to get to work and, like many leaders, you want to go at your own pace. OR, you’d rather drink from a firehose instead of a water fountain. Either way, if you fall into either of these categories, this roadmap is for you – let’s get started!

Since you already have your Family Ministry Assessment results, you know where you stand with the five values.  We highly recom...

Refine The Message to Say What Matters Most

Let’s pretend for a second that we were going to fast forward your life. You spend most of your life working in youth ministry or kid’s ministry, and 20-30 years from now, they throw you a party to retire. Just imagine that moment. You are standing in a room and people have come to celebrate the investment you made in their lives. As people are coming by, shaking your hand and thanking you, they keep saying things like this:

“One thing you taught me in youth ministry that I’ll never forget is…”...

Create Opportunities to Experience Personal Ministry

When we started North Point Community Church years ago, we made two decisions about service that I think were pretty important to the faith of the next generation.

The first decision was this: Whenever we recruited leaders or asked volunteers to serve, we prioritized service in the space of kids and youth ministry because we felt like the faith of the generation was the most important thing we could possibly do.

The second decision we made was this: If you had been at that church for more than...

Elevate Community to Give Kids a Caring Leader

Most of us got into this (ministry) because we absolutely believe that if we can shape the faith of a kid or teenager, it will affect their future. We fundamentally believe a kid’s relationship with God and their spiritual growth impacts the rest of their story.

Here’s the problem:  You can’t force a kid to have a relationship with God. You can’t force a teenager to have positive relationships with the people around them or see themselves in the right way.

You can’t force the relationship, but ...

Engage Parents To Have Positive Spiritual Influence

On average, a ministry leader has 40 hours in a given year to impact the life of a kid or teenager. In other words, there are many different things working against a kid showing up to your church. To name a few . . . vacation days, holidays, sick days, and blended family calendars. But when you add all of those up, you get around 40 hours every year.

And as a leader, you need to calculate what you are going to do with those 40.

On the other hand, when you calculate the number of waking hours p...

Align Leaders With Common Strategy and Language

The secret of momentum in football, or any sport for that matter, has less to do with talent, and more to do with how the team plays together. You can have the most talented players in the world, and still lose a game simply because they’re not working together to move the ball down the field.

Momentum has less to do with talent, and more to do with synergy.

In ministry, we define synergy like this — the combined energy around a common strategy.

That’s why if you want to have momentum and bui...
