Two Authors Talking Each Other's Ears Off
That's what you'll find over at the Fantasy Book Critic. The authors are Robert V.S. Redick and myself! I think we say a smart thing or two, but that may just be me. Judge for yourself.

In Transit
I'm a tired guy. I just finished an intense 9 days teaching at the Stonecoast Low-Residcency MFA Program, and now I'm in the airport. Not going home, though. I'm going to San Diego to teach at Clarion. (And make a few trips over to Comic-Con.) I'm exhausted, but I'm happy to say I'm really looking forward to Clarion. Should be a great week!
On a related note.... I miss my dog. 9 days without Saba! It's rough...
Oh, and I miss my family, too. Really I do!

Of course I promptly went over and tried to find my books there. Success.

The Sacred Band Audiobook!
Yay! Very pleased to announce that Audible.com will be doing an audiobook version of The Sacred Band. They have Dick Hill lined up to read it, which means we'll have continuity - the same narrator for all three books of the trilogy. And they're aiming to have it available on the October 4th pub date, just like the book.
I'm smiling.

Suvudu at Comic-Con

If so, click over to the Suvudu site and leave a question. Shawn may well use it!

Me At Comic-Con
Yes, I shall be. And with a rather distinguished group of folks at that.
We're talking Sunday the 24th. Here's the panel I'm on:
10:30-11:30 Wild Cards— Top writers in the science fiction field discuss the positives and the pitfalls of re-creating the comic experience in a prose form. How can words ever compete with pictures? Or does the depth of characterization make up for the lack of visuals? Panelists include George R. R. Martin (Song of Ice and Fire), Melinda M. Snodgrass (Edge series, Wild Cards), Paul Cornell (Doctor Who and DC Comics), Carrie Vaughn (Kitty novels), Michael Cassutt (Heaven's Shadow), David Anthony Durham (Acacia Series), Caroline Spector (Wild Cards), Daniel Abraham (Leviathan Wakes, Dragon's Path), and Kevin Andrew Murphy (Supernatural Suburbia). Room 6BCF
Cool, huh?

Acacia T3
I just noticed that The Sacred Band has gotten a preliminary page on the French Amazon. I like that. It gives a pub date of October 27th, but that's about it. No cover yet. I'll let you know when there is one!

Fort Freak on SFRevu
Fort Freak just got reviewed by SFRevu, and it's very nice one. Among other things, the reviewer concludes:
The stories are meshed together superbly by George R.R. Martin and Melinda Snodgrass. There isn't a single one that doesn't fit perfectly into place, expanding the Wild Cards world just a bit more. Fans of great superhuman storytelling will love this new volume, which requires little or no knowledge of the long-running series, but fans will be doubly rewarded as some long-standing characters get their due.
So there you go. What more do you need to hear? Full review is HERE.

Alone
That's what I am.
Wife and kids gone to Scotland.
Me... alone.
With dog.
Cat.
And other cat.
But still... it sucks.
