And the Hot Cowboy Trilogy Winner Is...

Congrats to Jennie (jenlyou1) for winning the signed copy of my Hot Cowboy Trilogy at the Casablanca Authors Blog Launch Party! I've posted to the Casa Blog and sent Jennie an email, but thought I'd covered all of the bases and post it here too!


I had a blast yesterday...in between finishing and turning in copyedits on the first book in my Small Town USA series, two blogs stops, and the unexpected pleasure of babysitting our darling grandbaby Handsome Jack! 


I had to drive him home last night and didn't get back until close to 11pm and realized that... Copyedits + two stops in my virtual tour + babysitting darling grandbaby = one pooped grandma! LOL

Book Obsessed Chicks BBQ

I was so excited to receive an invitation from Kim Rocha to attend her Book Obsessed Chicks 2nd Annual BBQ in Lido Beach, Long Island.

What an amazing group of ladies...all of whom are devoted to reading romance--among other things. :) Here are sisters Penny & Denise...

The BBQ was the first time Katie used fondant...and it was perfect...but better than that, it tasted yummy! I've had fondant before, but it didn't taste as good as Katie's.

Here's a pic of the cake she created for the BOC BBQ...it's a stack of  books! 



It was an overcast day, but for those of us worried that it would be a scorcher down by the water, it was perfect! I'd never been to Lido Beach before, and therefore had no idea they had "mushrooms" there. LOL! Here's a pic of the mushrooms...what an interesting concept and great for creating shade.







Of course we had to wander up to the water and dip our toes in...but it was seriously chilly...you'd never know it watching the people swimming.

Everyone brought something...food, books, baskets to raffle and goodies...and there were a number of authors who couldn't attend who mailed goodies to be put in the tote bags everyone received.

In case you’re wondering where you’ve landed in your blog hop…you’re in the wilds of North Jersey. While you’re here take a few minutes to relax and enjoy the peaceful gardens in our yard.


And enjoy one of my favorite summer refreshments…a Coffee Float! Before I got married it was my mom’s favorite way to chill out. I’ve always loved the way the ice cream melts and mixes with the coffee.
Here’s the recipe:Fill a glass with ice cold coffee and 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream (slightly melted is better), then let it rest for a few minutes before you stir, sip, and dip your spoon!
For those that prefer a lighter version…fill the glass one-third of the way with ice cold coffee, milk, and then 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream.



Grab a chair and relax for a few moments. My favorite spot is on our bluestone patio…the wild life loves it here: ruby-throated hummingbirds, robins, cardinals, purple finches, gold finches, red-bellied woodpeckers, red-tailed hawks, foxes, coyotes, black bears…you name it we have it!
