I don’t wait for a perfect morning, day or a flash of inspiration – I just sit down and write. Sometimes it will be a good session and other times, it won’t. The key thing is to just sit and write something, anything, down.

Routine is helpful to me – the routine changes from time to time but it is a routine, and mornings seem to work best for me.

The best tip I got was from a Tim Ferriss podcast episode in which he was speaking with Neil Strauss about his time as a writer for Rolling Stone. He asked him how he dealt with writer’s block and he explained that when he was writing for Rolling Stone, you didn’t have the luxury of ‘writer’s block’ - you had a deadline and if you didn’t meet it, you were out of a job.

I try and channel that way of thinking whenever I need to write.(less)

It was more of an editing project rather than a writing project in many ways. We wanted to create something that was a stripped-down version of our web and mobile platforms and make it purely functional – essentially a tool for efficiently finding flexible office space.

The core function of the app is to elicit details about a business’s office space requirement so that our team of office agents can then go about scanning the market and finding suitable solutions for each unique brief.

It didn’t feel right without some content, though, so we compartmentalised sections that explain what flexible office space is, what the various forms of flexible workspace are, we define serviced offices, managed office space and coworking spaces, we explain the differences between leased office space to rent and flexible space options and explain how flexible office spaces are priced.

However, the office search function is front and centre of the app.

We actually experimented with an app platform that we saw on being pitched on Dragon’s Den (and won investment). The platform bypasses the App store and the Play store which makes it slightly easier for users to download and access. The pitch can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lodig...
