DOCTOR, DOCTOR, GIMME THE NEWS...

The 4th Doctor and "Bones" McCoy. These are MY DoctorsI love the fact that my two favorite cinematic doctors have birthdays today. Happy Birthday to Tom Baker (Doctor Who's 4th Doctor) who we recently saw reprise his role in the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special and the late DeForest Kelley (Star Trek's Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy). These are My Doctors.

He'll be better than he was before. Better. Stronger. Faster. Also, one of my favorites from childhood, the Six Million Dollar Man weekly TV series began 40 years ago this past weekend, January 18th. That makes me feel old. I have recently enjoyed rewatching the series on DVD. It's still fun TV. The 1st episode was titled Population: Zero.

Cover Rough Sketch
Coming Spring 2014Although it hasn't been released yet, Amazon already has a page set aside for the upcoming ebook novel release of SNOW FALLS, the first book of my new series featuring Abraham Snow.

WRITERS, PIRATES, AND SUPER-HEROES... OH MY!

Jessica Parker Kennedy as Max on Starz's Black Sails.
I had a great Saturday.

I had a wonderful visit with the Athens Writers Association yesterday. We talked for a little more than a couple of hours. They had a lot of great questions, including one or two I hadn’t been asked before, which is always nice. I had planned to take some photos at the event, but I was so into the conversations that I forgot to take any pics. You can learn more about the group here and here.

The Athens Writers Association was a fun group and I wanted to thank Rob White for inviting me out for a visit. Hopefully, we can do it again.

After my visit with AWA, I decided to take the rest of the night off since it was late when I got home. Watched Iron Man 3 and the new Black Sails on Starz. While not my favorite of the Iron Man movies, IM3 is still good super hero fun. Black Sails was pretty good as well. I’ll definitely be back for more. Just a note: Black Sails is definitely not for the kiddies.

Today, it's back to work on Ghost Gal. There are many words to be written.

Happy Sunday!

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Compared to the past several days, today has been pretty awesome so far.

I had a great creative production meeting for a film project I can't quite discuss details on yet. I also confirmed my visit to the Athens Writers Association for tomorrow. Oh, and I found an on-line coupon that lowered the price on one of my prescriptions that decided to jump from $7.99 a month to $81.99 a month back down to something manageable. Whew.

There's still a good deal to do today. I have to have some new casting photos, Operation: Silver Moon graphic novel production work, and what's that last thing? Oh, yeah. Write. I really should do some of that.

Have a great weekend!

WORKIN' IN THE COAL MINE...

Art: Jamie Chase Operation: Silver Moon
Bonus PageOkay, not really. Writing is a lot safer that that, but I thought it made a good title. For those reading this that don't know it's a song title, thanks for making me feel old. HA! HA!

I managed to get some work down today, including some late night work on getting the Operation: Silver Moon graphic novel formatted and drooling over Rick Johnson's beautiful artwork.. More details on that project are coming soon, I promise. The finish line is in sight. At right is one of the bonus pages from the book showing how we go from script to art.

I also added some wordage to Ghost Gal and talked with my Ghost Gal cohorts on some character bits, which was fun. I always enjoy my chats with Michael and Alexandra. I also received some possible good news on an acting role. Can't say much more than that, but fingers crossed.
Art: Rick Johnson
I think it's time for me to pack it in for the night.

Until tomorrow.

Keep writing.

Bobby

About SAMARITAN:
A novella by Bobby Nash

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Deep space.

The science ship Aquarius, under the command of Captain Jeremiah Rains has finally reached the end of its exploratory mission to the depths of uncharted space and is returning home to Earth.

Captain Rains and his skeleton military crew are tired and bored from the lack of adventure they expected to find out in the great beyond. The scientists, however, are extremely happy with their many discoveries.

When the ship comes upon the wreckage of a destroyed space vessel, the crew is surprised to find one survivor; a woman, quite possibly the most beautiful woman any of them have ever seen. Her name is Lari and all she wants is someone, some Good Samaritan, to take her home.

The catch is that her planet is located at the center of a black hole.

SAMARITAN is a novella by author Bobby Nash

The discovery of a brutally murdered young lady with a connection to the local police, coupled with a rowdy high school reunion and the annual Autumn Festival has Sommersville Sheriff Tom Myers and his deputies overwhelmed.

Agent Palmer finds himself on the trail of a killer who preys on the fears of his victims. His next targets are the unsuspecting members of the reunited class of ‘02.

They should fear his EVIL WAYS.

SOMETIMES "NO" IS THE ONLY RIGHT ANSWER.

Asleep at the wheel... uh, keyboard again.
Coming SoonI accomplished a good deal this weekend. My workload was spread over several different projects which are in various stages of production. I'd love to go into more detail, but not all of these projects have been announced yet so mum's the word on them for now. Tomorrow, it's back to writing on the Ghost Gal novel, which is coming along nicely. Plus, I'll do a bit more formatting on the Operation: Silver Moon graphic novel, which is also coming along nicely. I'm really excited to show off Rick Johnson's fantastic artwork. It should be a good week.

Oh, I should also mention that there will be a Operation: Silver Moon website premiering this month as well. Stay tuned.

Today, I also received an offer to work on a new pulp anthology, which would
Coming Soonhave been a fun one to work on. Sadly, I had to say no because my schedule is pretty full at the moment. I hate turning down work, but sometimes it is better to say no than to agree to do something then not be able to get it in on time and hold up the project and everyone involved with it. When at all possible, I try not to do that. One of the things I struggle with is overextending myself. I always seem to take on more than I should. I'm trying to be better about that this year. I have several open novel projects that have been on hold as other projects dropped ahead of them on the schedule. The plan is to finish them this year. A daunting task, but one I'm looking forward to tackling.

So, yeah, it's hard to say no, but sometimes that's the only answer you can give. It's even harder because I thought of an interesting way this character (mum's the word, y'know) and Lance Star: Sky Ranger could team up. Oh well. Perhaps the opportunity will present
itself again down the road. Speaking of Lance Star, volume four of that series will be available very soon. Keep watching this space.

I also finalized plans to get Evil Ways into a new market. Hopefully, that will all come together this week, maybe next. Stay tuned. Boy, I've said that a lot tonight, haven't I?

It's late and I'm starting to feel it. Before I fall asleep at the keyboard again, I guess I should call it a night.

Bobby
