Born and raised in South Africa, Erin thrived on stories and the art of story telling. A long stint in marketing saw her move across the world, settling in rural North Italy with her Husband, two children and a cat.

She now hones her craft of story telling in creating tales that she herself would want to read.

Sometimes I just need a break from that character, that scene etc, and I often find that moving forward to come back helps me work through it. (less)

A hell of a year

Hello fellow readers and writers.

This has been one hell of a year. I am so grateful that I get to wake up and write everyday.

With all the craziness that is going on in the world, I find solace and comfort in stories... therapy perhaps? I'm not sure. One thing I do know is that with each word I write, I know that this is what I'm supposed to be doing.

My surprise (secret) release is underway next Read more of this blog post »

“If this sounds like your kind of beverage, then sip - gulp - or down it at your own pace.”
Erin Mc Luckie Moya, The Emperor

“Slowly, Azure began to understand that family was more than simply those whom you were born into. It was far more intrinsic and nuanced than that, and something within him vibrated with joy, as if he had unlocked or simply understood a key element of the puzzle that left a gaping hole of who he was.”
Erin Mc Luckie Moya, The Boy who was King

“Time. Time seemed like that one elusive thing that you either had too much of or simply not enough of”
Erin Mc Luckie Moya, The Boy who was King

“To the one and only Alex Jenkins Reid: Thank you for understanding why this book was so important to me and for being so into it. But more important, thank you for being the kind of man who encourages me to shout louder, dream bigger, and take less shit. Thank you for never making me feel as if I should make myself smaller to make anyone else feel better. It brings me an absolutely unparalleled amount of pride and joy to know that our daughter is growing up with a father who will stick by her side no matter who she is, who will show her how she should expect to be treated by modeling it for her. Evelyn did not have that. I did not have that. But she will. Because of you. And lastly, to my baby girl. You were teeny teeny tiny—I believe the size of half the period on the end of this sentence—when I started writing this book. And when I finished it, you were mere days away from making your entrance. You were with me every step of the way. I suspect it was, in no small part, you who gave me the strength to write it. I promise that I will repay the favor by loving you unconditionally and accepting you always, so that you feel strong enough and safe enough to do anything you set your mind to. Evelyn would want that for you. She would say, “Lilah, go out there, be kind, and grab what you want out of this world with both hands.” Well, she might not have put as big an emphasis on being kind. But as your mother, I must insist.”
Taylor Jenkins Reid, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
