The Perfect Space

As writers, we need our space. Whether it is someplace quiet, someplace with music or people, or someplace with both. Me? I thought I could write anywhere. I thought I wasn’t the picky type, but I found out today that I am. However, I’m not picky with the place…I’m picky with the chair.
I used to write at work when I had the time. An office setting with a chair and a desk. It was perfect because it allowed me to focus and not get distracted by other things. When I was at home, we had a big table with a broken chair, but we still used it. Again, it was exactly what I needed.
Now with a new job and a new table, I realized that it matters. Writing on a couch, even with a lap desk, doesn’t work. Too comfy. Too easily distracted from the tv. Writing on the new dining table is not my favorite. The benches are too hard. Too un-comfy.
Solution? I saw what cafes and bistros used, so I thought, “Why not bring one of those tables home?” I searched everywhere for the perfect one and I finally found it. The perfect workspace. So it was never the place for me, but rather the seating, because when you’re a writer, it’s the little things that matters.

A Devil’s Deal

I know, it looks very dark and will probably scare most super religious people away. I have a friend whose parents wanted to ban Harry Potter, so I already have a feeling on what they’re thinking of my book. That just goes to show you guys though, Never Judge A Book By Its Cover. Well…okay, my book is dark, but it also has humor, love, drama, horror, suspense and “ohmygosh, what did I just read?” So let me tell you what it is actually about…
Akira, a young, Texan girl sells her soul to the devil to gain her love, but she soon finds out that he is unfaithful, so she kills herself. She was expecting the worse, but the devil comes to her once again and tells her that he will make her another deal – A chance to save her soul. Now, she must do what has been done to her; find someone to fall in love with her, break their heart and then their soul replaces hers, taking her place in Hell. She also has a time limit of 200 years that she has to watch out for.
Let’s fast-forward to the last year, no, the last six months. She’s out of options, losing hope, when an angel comes to her and says that he is here to help her. But like with every story, he has a few dark secrets of his own. Will she be able to trust him? Also, will she be able to go through with her choice?
This is a book that tests your morals. Obviously sending someone else to take your place in Hell is a huge moral problem. Then again, she was young, dumb and in love when she made her first deal, so does she really deserve such a cruel fate?
My book is so much more than just making a deal. It has characters you would fall in love with, hate, be confused about, and think, “Why did that happen?”. It has funny moments, sad ones, scary parts and scenes where you might be able to relate to it. So check it out guys! Now available on Amazon and any website where books are sold! And remember…like with any book, NEVER Judge A Book By Its Cover.

Hey Guys!
I’m introducing you to my new blog called Rin Reads where I am going to be talking about books. (Duh!) I guess it would be more on book reviews since I’m an avid reader and have my own library that keeps growing. It’s not going to be just about book reviews though.
I’m a self published author – still new to this industry – and let me tell you, it was not an easy road. Anyone who says publishing a book is easy lied! Even going the self-published route, there are still so many obstacles to go through and as soon as your book is published, the real work begins. So I’m going to use this blog to give advice to aspiring writers out there.
Something else that you will see on this blog is me promoting my book. I’ll get more into what it is about soon, but all I can tell you right now is that it is a supernatural YA fiction. I’ll be posting pictures, news, and events just to get it out there more.
Overall, this is a bookish blog and will definitely be something for you avid readers, hopeful writers and promoters of your own work!
What to expect?
What should you expect from this blog? I’ll tell you the main facts because I know that there are tons of blogs out there and frankly, it could be a little overwhelming. So the main points?
Talking about my new self-published bookWriting adviceBook reviewsBasically anything to do with reading and writingI love talking about this kind of stuff and honestly, there’s just not enough people that I know personally to talk to about these things. Like about a good Melissa Marr book or complaining about my favorite pen breaking (because as a writer, you got to have a favorite pen). I want to meet people who understand these things because this is what blogging’s about, right? Finding people who love the things that you do.
