ROB ACKERMAN (Playwright) wrote TABLETOP (2001, Drama Desk Award, Best Ensemble Performance) and Disconnect (2005, The Working Theater at Classic Stage Company). His first play, ORIGIN OF THE SPECIES, was made into a feature film starring Amanda Peet. ICARUS OF OHIO was produced at NYU in the fall of 2008. His new play, VOLLEYGIRLS, was commissioned by ACT in San Francisco and will be staged there in March of 2009. Rob also does prop work for SNL and others. Raised in Columbus, Ohio, Rob has a BA from Middlebury and an MFA from Northwestern. He and his wife, author Carol Weston, live on the Upper West Side. They have two daughters and one cat. ...more
