So, let’s embark on a thought experiment: If we ran the school…

First and foremost, we’d have classes dedicated to understanding and expressing feelings. Emotions are a fundamental part of our lives, yet they’re often overlooked in traditional curricula. Our school would have a safe space for students to talk about their feelings, learn how to manage them and understand their peers’ emotions. Imagine starting the day with a “feelings circle,” where everyone shares their mood and thoughts. It would help build empathy, emotional intelligence, and a supportive community.

Lessons on Kindness and Empathy

In addition to the usual subjects, we’d prioritize lessons on kindness and empathy. These classes would teach children to be good friends, listen actively, and support each other. Activities like role-playing and group discussions would help students practice these essential skills. Fostering a culture of kindness enables us to cultivate a more inclusive and compassionate environment.
