Updates and Changes
When I moved to do updates every other month, it never actually occurred to me that time would fly by. It’s been right around three months and the time has absolutely flown by. In the future, I’ll try not to go so long without an update.
But don’t worry, I’ve been writing.
The third novella in The Sword of the Gray Queen comes out March 17th. And it’s bittersweet.
It marks the first time I’ll be ending a story on a “happily for now” instead of “happily ever after”.
For some backst...

This is what happens when I have extra time!
So, I wrote a horror novella. I missed my goal of having it ready for Halloween, but it’s out before the end of the year!
The Woman in the Chimney releases December 2nd.
Horror was one of my first loves. My early childhood was during the rise of Goosebumps, and my mom was an avid Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan. So as soon as I was old enough, I started reading the masters, and promptly getting my pants scared off.
Maybe I enjoyed writing the dark parts of dark fantasy too much…...

The End of A Battleaxe and a Metal Arm
After 20 episodes (4 “books”), the epic, D&D-inspired, progression fantasy serial, A Battleaxe and a Metal Arm, is coming to an end this Friday, November 11th.
A sorceress and a barbarian are trapped in a mad wizard’s prison. They travel through the countless, impossible realms of this prison world, looking for a means to get out… but not even death is an escape.
And there are many fates that are worse…
Finally, after almost 2 years of monthly releases, Helesys and Taunauk will face the...

“Highwaymen and worse” — Flash Fiction Friday
“Woah,” the rider said, pulling alongside the carriage, aiming a blunderbuss.
The driver took the highwayman’s meaning and slowed. “You don’t know. You don’t know…”
“What’s that?” the rider asked. More men came from behind. He peeked into the carriage.
Behind the curtain, a sultry face and long fangs stared back.

“Memories Become a Maze” — Flash Fiction Friday
Charlotte looked up at her childhood village. “This isn’t a maze,” she said, her voice suddenly higher pitched and her hands much smaller than moments before.
“Yes it is,” the devious satyr whispered. “It’s different than you remember. Cobblestones and years for walls. Just wait ‘till you see the minotaur.”

“Winter Wreaths” — Flash Fiction Friday
At first snowfall, young Pestil took wreaths to her neighbors. Last was old Mr. Wormwood.
He answered, smiled thanks, and ignored her questions of strange smells and hisses. Then shut the door.
And Pestil tried not to think about the severed blue hand she’d seen reaching up from his alchemy table.
