#OrganicJesus: Origins
It seems natural that the first official blog post for this website is about the book that this website serves as a companion to: #OrganicJesus:Finding Your Way to an Unprocessed, GMO-Free Christianity. I started writing the book in 2013. My wife was then pregnant with our son. I had spent the past several years writing technical and more commercial books, and I wanted to get back to writing about my real passion: Christianity.
As I thought about what to write, I thought about the world—about all the crazy, and even messed-up, things that Christians say—hurtful, vindictive, and…un-Christian things. And as I thought about that, I thought, one day I’ll have to answer to God, but one day I’ll also have to answer to my son. What do I say when he asks, “Why do you believe? If there is a God then how can people like that exist?”
So #OrganicJesus was started because of him.
