"WRITTEN IN BLOOD: THE COLLECTED STORIES, VOL. 1" OUT NOW IN PAPERBACK & KINDLE!

There's been radio silence for a little while, but rest assured more Alex Hartwell horror books will be coming your way very soon!  To tide you over, I've compiled all of my stories published in 2020 under one title: Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1.  It's cheaper than buying each release separately, too.

I'm also excited because Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1 is the first of my books to be released in both Amazon Kindle and trade paperback format.

Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1 collects all the stories previously published in Restless Dead, Death's Perfume: A Kindle Short, Unholy Terror: A Short Story Collection and Family Blood: A Kindle Novella.  If you're a collector, or if you simply know a good deal when you see one, Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1 is the best introduction to my work and a great way to prepare for all the great new releases coming in 2021.

Here's the product description:

Do you like blood, murder and mayhem?  Horror writer Alex Hartwell has got you covered with "Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1".  In "To Catch A Beast", a stranded group of strangers are hunted by a terrifying monster on a bloodsoaked vendetta. "Yellow Eyes" sees a family of werewolves kidnapping a young child and his mother, who must now save her son before their dark ritual is performed. Also included is the post-apocalyptic novella "Family Blood", in which a man tries to save his children from being consumed by the murderous cult with whom they've taken refuge.

These are just a few of the 12 horrifying short stories contained in "Written In Blood: The Collected Stories, Vol. 1". Clocking in at just over 300 pages and compiling all of his short stories published in 2020, these gory, disturbing and terrifying tales will give even the most hardened horror fan a few sleepless nights.

"FAMILY BLOOD: A KINDLE NOVELLA" OUT NOW ON AMAZON KINDLE!

Like cults, post-apocalyptic horror, blood and violence?  If so, you're going to love my new novella, "Family Blood", which is out TODAY on Amazon Kindle!  Starting tomorrow, there will be a 3-day freebie promotion, but after that the price will only be $3.99.  As always, you can read it for free immediately through Kindle Unlimited.

Don't forget to rate and review it on Amazon and on GoodReads.  Every review helps drive more potential readers to my work.  I'm on GoodReads fairly often, so you can always connect with me there too -- I love reading what readers think of my books.

Harry is the reluctant Lord Executioner, Father's premier murderer of dissidents in the Fortress. Haunted by the blood on his hands, he carries on performing his grisly duties to keep his revolutionary son and loyalist daughter safe from Father's cult. But there are forces bubbling underneath the outwardly peaceful appearance of their society. With his children caught in the middle, Harry will be forced to make a choice between the relative safety of oppressive conformity and the dangers of desiring freedom in a violent post-apocalyptic world.

Horror writer Alex Hartwell's latest release is leaps and bounds beyond the fears expressed in "Unholy Terror: A Short Story Collection", "Death's Perfume: A Kindle Short" and "Restless Dead". In "Family Blood: A Kindle Novella", he takes you beyond the supernatural into a hauntingly realistic vision of a world gone bloody mad.

If you enjoy "Family Blood", then you'll enjoy "Unholy Terror: A Short Story Collection", "Death's Perfume: A Kindle Short" and "Restless Dead"!  I'm releasing new books all the time, so if you haven't already, follow my Amazon author page and stay tuned for more!

"UNHOLY TERROR: A SHORT STORY COLLECTION" RELEASED TODAY ON AMAZON!

I'm proud to announce the fact that "Unholy Terror: A Short Story Collection" is available to read on Amazon!  Like all of my work, you can read it for free on Kindle Unlimited, or you can purchase a copy for yourself for only $0.99.  I'm extremely proud of the three short stories in this collection -- "We Are The Dead", "Unholy Terror", and "To Catch A Beast".  They're some of my most visceral stories yet, and I hope you enjoy them.

As always, please do rate and review my books on Amazon and get in touch with me on Goodreads.  It doesn't sound like much, but every bit of positivity from all of you out there goes a long way toward making this book release a successful one.

A West Virginia security guard reports that the dead have returned to life . . . and are now marching down Main Street toward City Hall. A pair of parapsychology majors study a real life house of horrors where a God-fearing Christian girl hacked her husband into bits. Stranded at a hospital during a winter squall, a group of strangers are hunted by a terrifying monster on a bloodsoaked vendetta.

Horror writer Alex Hartwell returns with "Unholy Terror", a gory short story collection featuring three of his most nerve-wracking and extreme genre stories to date. Weaving social satire, humor and metaphysical concern in with the scares, Hartwell's latest is sure to resonate with gorehounds and horror fans everywhere.

Don't forget also that there is a growing catalog of my books out there to read as well!  "Restless Dead" has 7 more of my short stories, and "Death's Perfume: A Kindle Short" is rising through the charts as we speak.  I burst onto the scene with "Cadaver: Horror Poems", a collection of my best hair-raising poetry.

Follow me on my official Amazon author page to get new books as soon as they're released.  There was only a two week gap between "Death's Perfume: A Kindle Short" and "Unholy Terror: A Short Story Collection", so who knows what yet may lurk in the pipeline . . . you can visit my new Bibliography page for more information!

"DEATH'S PERFUME" KINDLE SHORT NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON!

As of yesterday, my new release "Death's Perfume" is available for download on Amazon Kindle!  It's only $0.99, but from November 11th through 16th you can download it FOR FREE and read it immediately.  If you like it, please do rate and review on Amazon, and get in touch with me on Goodreads.  I love hearing from people who've read my work.

EVERYBODY GETS LONELY SOMETIMES . . .

For Patrick Grill, loneliness is a way of life. He ventures out of his house only when he absolutely has to. He's afraid of talking to people.

BUT THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE . . .

That's when Ashley comes into his life. She appears on his doorstep and beckons him to follow. Her intoxicating scent draws him out, and he walks with her.

IS TO OPEN UP . . .

But the longer they walk, the more suspicious he becomes, particularly as they come closer and closer to the iron wrought gates of Wilmington Cemetery.

Ashley has a purpose for him, one that Patrick could never have imagined in his wildest dreams. But when he discovers the unspeakable acts they are to perform in the company of gravestones, he realizes he's in way over his head.

But Ashley has him under her spell -- and it's far too late to turn back now . . .

After "Restless Dead" and "Cadaver: Horror Poems", Alex Hartwell returns with a hardcore horror Kindle short with sex, violence, and enough of a bite to turn the stomachs of readers around the world.

Read on, if you dare . . . and enjoy the splatter!

And of course my short story collection Restless Dead and my poetry chapbook Cadaver: Horror Poems are both still available for sale on Amazon Kindle for a buck as well.  Once you're done with Death's Perfume, check them out as well if you're into blood, guts, gore and veins in your teeth.

Follow me on my official Amazon author page to get new books as soon as they're released.  There's more where all this came from . . .

"RESTLESS DEAD" SHORT STORY COLLECTION NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON KINDLE!

It's officially October, my friends, and you know what that means -- a new release for all of you.  I give you . . .  Restless Dead!  It's a 129-page short story collection including 7 of my best stories.  This weekend, the book will be available on a free promotion on Amazon, but after the five sale days conclude, the price will remain $0.99.  I figure, as a newcomer to the Amazon Kindle scene, it makes sense to keep the prices -- and therefore the bar to entry -- very low.

Here's the product description on Amazon:

A woman's mother returns from the grave to prey on her family. Pursued by a mysterious figure in his dreams, a neglected teen comes to terms with his family's curse. Kidnapped by a family of werewolves, a woman must save her son before a dark ritual is performed.

Hot off the heels of releasing "Cadaver: Horror Poems", Alex Hartwell returns with these -- and more -- frightful stories in "Restless Dead", his new short story collection. Intended for fans of horror and dark fantasy who need a few sleepless nights, Hartwell's new book consists of seven terrifying tales to scare even the most jaded of horror fans.

Crammed with haunts, monsters, blood and terror, any reader brave enough to enter Hartwell's world will come to know that there will be no rest for the wicked . . .

. . . as long as there are RESTLESS DEAD.

I hope you seized the chance to pick up a copy of Cadaver: Horror Poems for free on Amazon Kindle over the last five days.  According to my numbers, 88 of you did -- and that's a pretty good number for a previously unknown Amazon writer whose first book is a book of spooky poetry.  Thank you so much for all your support, especially to the three 5-star ratings I've accumulated on Amazon and Goodreads.  It means a lot to me that my work resonates with you.

Don't fear -- if you missed your opportunity on Cadaver: Horror Poems, it's available right now on Amazon Kindle for a buck.

And don't forget to grab a copy of Restless Dead today!

"CADAVER: HORROR POEMS" NOW AVAILABLE ON AMAZON KINDLE

Hey everybody!
First of all, thanks for checking out the blog.  I hope to keep you guys informed and up-to-date going forward.
I suppose the first order of business then is telling you about my new short poetry anthology, Cadaver: Horror Poems.  It's only $0.99, it's a collection of ten horrifying poems and available right now only on Amazon Kindle.  Here's the product description:

The world's a scary place, but there's a terrifying universe beyond life and death and Alex Hartwell's "Cadaver: Horror Poems" gives you a front row seat to Hell.
In "Dream People", a young family is buried in their own cellar. "Anniversary" depicts the troubled psyche of a man fearing a visit from a vengeful spirit. A malevolent force reduces the inhabitants of a lakeside resort to mere blood and bone in "He".
Throughout this poetry anthology, Hartwell marries ghostly apparitions with genuine metaphysical concerns, and in the process creates a literary landscape as beautiful as it is brutal.
One thing is for certain: these unhappy endings -- or are they beginnings? -- will haunt your mind long after you've turned the last page.

The thing is, I'm not sure how well it's going to sell because let's face it -- poetry doesn't sell like it used to.  I'm hoping that given the low price and that kickass cover image, people will give it a try.  With every passing year, it gets harder to cut through the static noise of the hundreds of thousands of new e-Book releases on Amazon.

I'm going to be releasing new content on a fairly regular basis, with the first new product coming out next month -- that's the first book of my new series, ShiftersCheck out the press release right here on this very same blog for more info on that as well!

And by the way, thanks again for checking out the blog. If you've read this far, then I'll give you a little tip: buy Cadaver this weekend and it will be available for download for FREE until next Wednesday.  Make sure when you do buy it to leave a review -- it really does help us creatives get discovered on Amazon.
