Hmmm…
DragonCon!
I’ve never been to DragonCon. Since they’re expecting about 80,000 attendees this year, I’ve never been to anything even CLOSE to DragonCon. For me, a huge convention is something like Spooky Empire, where it is occasionally difficult to navigate through the dealer’s room, not something that spills over into five hotels.
My official schedule is pretty light. I’ll be on the “Comedy in Fantasy” panel Friday at 7:00 PM, and Sunday at 2:30 PM I’ll be doing a reading.
The conventions I attend used to do half-hour slots for author readings, but over the past couple of years they’ve gone to the “two authors sharing half an hour” model, usually an experienced author paired with a newbie. This time, I get an entire hour to myself! An embarrassment of riches!
After some thought, I’ve narrowed my tentative setlist to:
Gave Up The Ghost
Nails
Alien Face
Push the Button
Really, Really Ferocious
I might still change my mind, and “Alien Face” might get cut on the fly if I’m running long. If you’re going to be one of the 80,000, and it’s 2:25 PM on Sunday, and you’re all like, “Gosh, I don’t know how to spend the next hour,” please consider showing up.

Atlantan
It’s done! I live in Atlanta now. The A/C isn’t working, which is a bit of an inconvenience in Atlanta in the summer, and there are still 8,213,209 boxes to unpack, but things have calmed down enough for me to write a blog post.
Just a quick one, though. In fact, it’s over. More later.

Back!
Jeepers, it’s been a busy couple of weeks. I went to StokerCon in Long Beach, followed by a trip to St. Louis, followed by the RT Booklovers Convention. Now I’m back home with a book deadline rushing toward me like a bullet train…after which I’ll be packing up to move from Tampa, Florida to Atlanta, Georgia!
Reports of all three trips coming soon…

Literary Improv Mashup!
At this event in St. Petersburg, Florida, authors read very short stories, and then a team of improvisers immediately perform a scene inspired by the story. I’ll be reading on May 25th. It is one of my most popular and infamous stories. It’s hard to even IMAGINE what an improv group will do with it.
You’ll want to be there when it happens. Tickets available now.
