How to shift your negative to positive mindset

I love this question; I get this allot - how to do this?
This is what prompted me to write a book about it.
I genuinely believe that shifting our thoughts towards a more positive way of thinking can shape our lives.

In my latest book, I write about a process called the #R's Release, Reach, and Reframe.

This technique has helped me shift fast because I am more aware of the thinking that is keeping me stuck.

Release the thought, reach for a new one, and reframe it by turning it into a positive future statement.
Try it and see how you go.

Three ways to effectively communicate for retail managers

Kit Campoy is an experienced retail leader, now turned freelance writer.  Kit loves writing and advising retail leaders after leading teams for over two decades. We are happy to feature Kit and share her words of wisdom; enjoy the read.

“How come everyone on your team gets along?”  “How do you do that?”

I would get asked these questions often. After running retail buildings for twenty years, some things become second nature, and you must learn how to break them down for newer leaders.

“I don’t ...

How to Clear Your Building When it’s on Fire

How to Clear Your Building When it’s on Fire

Four steps to a strong leadership foundation

On a clear Spring day, our store was buzzing. The fitting rooms were full, and customers leisurely browsed through the store in search of attire that would fit the new season. Early afternoon light poured in from the giant windows that wrapped around our building.

What does it mean to pivot?

PIVOT to what?

What does it mean to pivot? I have been hearing this word for a couple of months in many conversations. New terms are coming out to describe the new reality in business, specifically retail. However, this term was and has been used in start-ups for years. Being the curious person that I am, I decided to do some research on this interesting word. Here is the best description I could find.

3 probing questions you should ask every candidate.

Last week, a leader I know texted me on Wednesday morning to ask me if I had a list of interview questions. She had an interview coming up and required a list of great questions to ask her potential hire. There are 3 questions you should ask every candidate. When you learn how to use them you will be able to assess top potential candidates easily. While working at Apple I was fortunate to be trained through Lominger Interview Architect. However, I believe asking questions go far beyond recruitin...

How do you value others? Find out in this blog post.

I have a vision that everyone everywhere will feel valued. So how do you value others?

I was watching Simon Sinek yesterday, he is very clear on his mission and talks about it openly in most of his youtube videos which I admire.

As I sat there and listened intently, I asked myself a question that most of us struggle with. Am I clear on what my purpose and mission is?

From the outside looking in at my life, you would think that my mission has been to climb the corporate ladder and make it to the ...

Live purposely and lead positively, learn why this matters.

This leadership model, when adopted, helps you lead, create, and promote an inclusive culture. Live purposely and lead positively, learn why this matters.

After leading individuals and teams for almost three decades, I decided it’s time to share my story. After engaging in conversations about leadership and mentoring many of you. I realized if I put my story into a book, it could help many more people, than just those that have access to me in my personal speer of influence. My hope is, this boo...

Mindfulness and Meditation in the Workplace

These two buzz words are being used lately a lot in business. Mindfulness, Meditation. What is the difference, and what do leaders need to know about mindfulness and meditation in the workplace?

In this blog post, I am going to introduce the practice of mindfulness and meditation in the workplace. But first, let me give you some background. I have been a meditation fan for over 14 years, I found it when I was going through a difficult time in my life. Moving to Toronto from Miami, recovering fro...

Have you ever felt the effects of manipulation versus influence?

Manipulation versus Influence, the difference is very subtle; however, there is a difference. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are thinking “Am I crazy? Is it me?”  I know I have.

Influence and manipulation are clearly related as they both contain elements of subterfuge and dishonesty, but the difference lies in the intention of the engineer. Influence respects the target’s well-being and health. Manipulation is not often hindered by these concerns.

When you are led by a lea...
