Locations in The Legacy - Apollo Bay
In The Legacy, Sarah decided it was best to begin again and took a leap of faith, and a position, at the Apollo Bay Hotel. While Oceana is a fictional restaurant, the seaside town of Apollo Bay is truly stunning:
"Sarah stayed very close to Clayton over the last two decades, and she managed his casual-beach dining establishment, his third endeavor, Oceana, within the Apollo Bay Hotel in the seaside town of Apollo Bay, Victoria, on the southeastern side of Australia."

Locations in The Legacy - Alamosa, Colorado
In The Legacy, our youngest protagonist, Ellen, was the one to sacrifice the most.
"The Donovans had plans for Ellen, for reconditioning her, and they decided that a rural community with a population of approximately nine thousand people, Alamosa, Colorado, was the perfect place to take her. Crystal blue Colorado skies, and the beauty of the mountain views became elusive to Ellen while she struggled within the strict walls of the Donovan home."

https://manybooks.net/articles/editorial-review-the-legacy-by-mark-snyder
In a world of gods and planets, The Legacy tells the complex tale of an eternal cycle in which the powers of good and evil, balance and imbalance, light and dark, will battle for the outcome of all humanity.
The girl blamed for killing her mother at birth, the woman with no memory of her past, the troublesome daughter who feels too much and talks to her imaginary friend, the boy with the missing father – and the monitor.
The Legacy is a story with many lead characters, each the central figure in their own sad story and yet connected to one another in ways even they don’t understand. Whether through flashes in dreams to each other’s world, showing them what is happening, has happened, or will happen. The connections between each of them are innate, they do not understand but they do know that it feels inevitable.
Beginning with the beginning, The Legacy first describes an alternate universe in which the god’s humans have known as the Greek pantheon have active roles in the universe. Helios, god of the sun, created the planets, including Gaia – the only planet upon which life can emerge. Helios will do anything to protect Gaia, and through this need to protect The Legacy begins.
Each of our main characters is born into lives filled with pain, tragedy, and trauma. This is directly linked to the state of the planet and the moral state of humanity. Their lives are tormented with death and abandonment, they feel the world's ills as their own, and they cannot escape this cycle. Every member of The Legacy is born time and time again to live their predetermined life and determine the fate of the rest of humanity – if they can find love and goodness in the world that has forsaken them.
The Legacy follows each of these lives in what is destined to be the last cycle. We see each of them grow and become steadily more damaged in their uniquely dark life paths until some twist of fate brings them together.
The Legacy is an interesting take on the religions of the world, those with an interest in contemporary religion or theology will find the story compelling. While technically not a dystopian novel, The Legacy certainly has aspects common to the genre well mixed in with fantasy and spiritual thriller. It is an involved read that demands the reader’s attention to detail as multiple consciousnesses and timelines play against one another.
A complex, interwoven, and meticulous tapestry of a story that captures the reader and holds on tight to the end.

The Lancaster Farm Sanctuary
On an immaculately maintained farm, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, lives a legion of superheroes.

These superheroes are not wearing capes, scaling tall buildings with webs, or flying through the air with the greatest of ease…these superheroes are survivors and protectors, and they are the true embodiment of courage and compassion.
In addition to the many alpacas, chickens, cows, ducks, horses, goats, pigs, ponies, sheep, and turkeys on the farm, you will also find co-founders Sarah Salluzzo and Jonina Turzi. I would also be remiss not to mention the employees, volunteers, several cats, and a dog named Hazel, that can also be found on the sprawling property.

Salluzzo and Turzi established the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, in 2017, to provide a home for animals that have, for one reason or another, broken free from their fate of being raised for food. These animals have survived harrowing escapes from slaughterhouse transport, near-fatal illness, abuse, neglect, as well as many other situations that seem untenable when considering the odds that were stacked against them.
For instance, meet Jean Marie.

Jean Marie is a young pig that managed to slip away from transfer to the slaughterhouse and, most likely, broke a hind leg during this initial escape. At the time of her rescue, it was determined that she had broken both of her back legs, but the second injury happened as she was lost and roaming in unfamiliar territory.
Next, meet Jude.

Jude is a cow that was born with a cleft palate and deemed improper for the meat trade. Just days after his birth, this past winter, he was kept in a small cage amid the elements and suffered from pneumonia and life-threatening infections.
These are just two stories of the residents of the farm.
Santosha the turkey, Alyssa the goat, Orville the sheep, Pumpkin the pig, Lilith the horse, and so many others, have stories that put the strong will to live on full display. Most of the residents of the farm were just days or weeks old as they experienced a life no living being should ever live.

Heroes come in many forms. In this case, they come with snouts, wings, hooves, horns and beaks. They also come as two humans doing their part to help those that cannot help themselves by showing their superpowers of compassion, protection, and empathy…things this world could use a little more of these days.
Please consider supporting the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, by providing donations to help with the costs of important medical care and supplies as well as operational costs for their beautiful farm.
