Random Previews: October 2010

I missed this in September. Not sure how that happened. But, I'm here now and I've booted up Apple/Quicktime and IMDB to check out the new trailers that are available.

Let's see what the future holds for me and the movies:

- The Warrior's Way (3 December 2010)
Ninja Assassin meets Sword of the Stranger (anime -- very good, I recommend it) set in the Wild West. I LOVE IT! I had to giggle through

Summer Movie ReCap

Summer is over (if all this cold air blowing through my house is any indication) and it's time for my summer movie recap. I have a Movie-o-Meter on this blog so people can keep track of my fav movies during a season.

Here it is for the last time before I switch it over to fall/winter:

Top 5 of Summer 2010

#1 - How to Train Your Dragon
#1 - Easy A
#2 - Prince of Persia
#2 - Just Wright

Power Optional

A storm blew through MD last night and now I have no power. I'm typing this post from my car where my mini is plugged into my power converter and getting internet through my laptop connect card. Where there's a will there's a way. :D

Estimated time of reconnect is some time tonight. The hubby and I are hoping for sooner. While I'd like to say I'll probably get a lot of writing done thanks to

Movie Review: Batman/Superman: Apocalypse

Batman/Superman: Apocalypse

Basic Premise:
Batman and Superman destroyed a giant kryptonite asteroid headed for Earth. They thought their worries were over but the asteroid had a surprise hidden within it -- Kara Zor'El, Superman's cousin. She's new to Earth, new to her powers, and a wild card that spells trouble, especially if Darkseid gets his hands on her.

Review:
I'm usually gung-ho

Death of the English Language

Article in the Washington Post:

Goodbye, cruel words: English. It's dead to me.

What's truly sad is that there will be some readers who don't understand why certain phrases are in quotes.

Thanks, Flash, for passing along this obituary.

You Are Getting Sleepy

I don't know why but sleepy crept up on my at work last night. I took a power/cat nap during my hour lunch that revived me a little but it's back. I usually don't get hit like this. If I sit still for too long, I start falling asleep. Looks like I'm going to bed early. There's just some minor upkeep things I have to see to first.

Movie Review: Owls of Ga'Hoole

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Basic Premise:
Soren, a young owl, must prove to the world and himself that the legends of the guardians are true. And they need to be if he hopes to save his family and all owl-kind from the coming evil.

Short:
It seems shorts before feature films are catching on again (thank you Pixar). WB gave us a short titled "Fur of Flying". Road Runner and

Writing Update: 24 Sept 2010

I knuckled down yesterday and spent from 7am until 3pm writing. I took a small nap somewhere in there but managed to drop 6100 words on Yolette. While that may not seem like a lot, I connected chapters eight through eleven into a cohesive whole. At this point in my writing process, I'm just writing the filler that connects the different scenes together.

Current Word Count - 92,300
