Patreon!I know, I know, it’s a cliche: CIA werewolves, claws out for Uncle Sam. Sorry, but cliches are there for a reason. When you have the ability to turn to an animal and can only be killed by silver, it turns out the US government will always be happy to take a look at your resume. Sometimes they’ll even ask, first.
Not that working for the CIA is any great shakes for any member of what is politely called the Exotic-American community. It’s not like the old days, when they were sending rat-men into the Berlin sewers, or trying to petrify Castro, but I still heard enough stories about the CIA’s flexible attitude towards the definition of ‘achievable’ and ‘survivable’ that the pack all jumped at the chance to sign up with the NSA, instead.
Honestly, my pack’s much better off working for the NSA, doing… stuff. I can’t talk about it, obviously. But whatever it is we’re doing, we’re doing it on American soil. Of course? Of course.
Oh, and if it makes you feel any better: there aren’t any vampires in the IRS. Really and truly. The feds know it’d be a torch-and-pitchfork situation just waiting to happen.

Book of the Week: The Silmarillion.
I brought a copy of JRR Tolkien’s The Silmarillion with me to the event because I couldn’t be social or tell people where to pitch their tents all day. It has been a while since I read it – and I suspect that I wasn’t as intelligent back then as I am now, because I definitely missed bits. I need hardly state that it’s a damn brilliant book. But I will, anyway: it’s a damn brilliant book… which encouraged more than a few lesser ones. Not Tolkien’s fault, mind you.
Oh, and regular posting tomorrow. I am beat.

I gotta bail in an hour or so to get to the site in time to put up tents; then, tomorrow morning, it’s up and out the door by 7 AM to get to the site in time to make sure everything is set up and set out. I assume I’m just going to collapse tomorrow night and sleep. Ach, well, it’ll all be good for me, I’m sure.

I’ve never quite forgiven the American movie-going public for not paying for a MASTER AND COMMANDER series, but I’ll take what I can get.
FIVE DAYS TO GO on the Kickstarter!
Although I am pleased at the level of success for the “A proper picture for my ‘Pickman’s Model!’” so far. It’d be awesome if it cracks the million dollar mark in the next five days. I needed it to fund, so that I could bring out the story this year and still be able to publish two more novels. And it has, so we’re golden.
But if people want to go for that million dollar objective, well, I can live with that.
