‘Down the Road.’

Odd that I haven’t done this one. It’s just so lovely.

Question I’m asking myself: should I Kickstart a DriveThruRPG version of the Fermi Resolution RPG?

I had a consultation with a guy in the industry – like, a paid one and everything – and based on we discussed I could probably swing getting the whole Fermi Resolution RPG up and running for about a grand. Do it through DriveThruRPG, sell it for $15B&W/$25 color. It’s mostly done, and the remaining steps aren’t insurmountable.

The problem is: I’ve already distributed a working copy of the game to my Kickstarter backers (I’d make sure they got clean PDFs of the finished version), so I don’t know if it would fund. I also don’t know how many I’d sell, although honestly having it on the vendor table would be useful in other ways. Anybody have any thoughts on the subject?

Kind of a stressy week, huh?

And I just don’t mean the Stuff We Don’t Talk About Here. Some weeks, people just don’t seem to have fun about anything. This is apparently one of those weeks.

So, I dunno. Tell me about cool stuff. I got some Cool Stuff coming in the mail, but it isn’t here yet. It is definitely Cool, though. Trust me on this.

The “I have questions” DRAGON AGE: ABSOLUTION animated trailer.

Starting with: a Qunari mage? A… Qunari… mage? Who looks like that? The rationalizations that DRAGON AGE: ABSOLUTION must have gone through to justify that character will probably amuse, at least.

I dunno if I’ll watch this. Bioware is, after all, dead to me. But there’s that damnable curiosity of mine…

11/10/2022 NaNoWriMo, BANSHEE BEACH: 2260/27056*.

Asterisk because I had to do a considerable amount of revising the numbers. I was looking at my wordcount, and the numbers were off. Like, seriously off. I had written over two thousand words, but the counter wasn’t advancing by the same amount. So I went looking, and I discovered that some of the text wasn’t checked off as being part of the final text. When I told it to include those parts, wordcount went up to over twenty-seven thousand. Which means I’m not actually behind on wordcount, after all! In fact, I’m 45% done with the book already. Happy day!

“What’s going on here? And what aren’t you telling me?”

“That’s the same question Dolores asked me. Oh, right, sorry, you haven’t met.” I looked at the door. It had closed, dammit. “Anyway, she’s the woman whose goons you’ve been pounding on. She actually was playing it straight: all she wanted was for you to get your stuff and then out of her life, only without killing her idiot nephew. Grabbing me was supposed to make you stay cool enough to stay your hand. I would have told her it wouldn’t work out that way, except she already sent the note. Guess she’s not used to Adventurers.”

“Or used to being on the other side from them,” grumbled Lucas. “You don’t let people take hostages. It never ends well.”

“Yeah, well, that’s why I thought you’d come in through the window!” I waved at it. “It’s what, only three stories? You’d climb up, bust in, we’d turn the bedsheets into ropes, and duck out of here. Easy-peasy.”

“Didn’t you fall out of the Castle, the last time you tried the improvised rope feat? Right into a rosebush?”

“Oh, you heard about that?”

“Four people made sure to tell me. With gestures, and everything.”

The JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 trailer.

Time for everybody’s favorite vampire-conspiracy-without-vampires / video-game-without-a-video-game movie! JOHN WICK: CHAPTER IV:

Further commentary largely unnecessary. You’ll either see it, or you won’t. That’s cool, either way.

Sleep Madness has taken its toll.

Slept poorly last night, staggering around today. I need to get some sleep. Buy my books! – And somebody remind me tomorrow that I had a question I wanted to ask.

The GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO trailer

This Pinocchio is stop-motion, and looks a good deal more interesting than the life-action version the Mouse just did. But that just may be the sleep madness talking…

My mini-review of WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY.

Short version: WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY is like finding a diamond in a dung heap.

Slightly longer version: this movie shouldn’t work, but it does. It’s bizarre and constantly on the verge of totally going off the rails, but somehow it never quite crashes. Some people online are asking whether or not WEIRD: THE AL YANKOVIC STORY should have been released in theaters, but I don’t know if that was really ever on the table. I mean, this is a flicks for hardcore Weird Al fans. There are more of us than you think, but are there enough to justify a full theatrical release?

PS: I’m surprised that Madonna isn’t suing.

My Stellar Con table location!

At some point, I need to sit down and try to figure out if I’m getting good table assignments, or not. Somebody must have worked out the best table location to have at these things by now, right? I mean, money’s involved. Money is a powerful incentive.

BEHOLD! My table location at Stellar Con. November 19th, Bel Air, MD! https://t.co/WO18GkfCyx pic.twitter.com/6Yw8IuwKwX

Stellar Con will be on November 19th, in Bel Air, MD. It will likely be my last convention of 2022. Stop on by, buy a book or eight!
