I am unapologetic in my love for the VENOM series, and its brazen melodrama. It’s like spoken-word opera! But it looks like we’re headed to a huge blowout in the final movie, and then it’ll be… over? They’ll just go out on a high note, and not try to flog the IP?

09/11/2024 Snippet, THE LAST DAYS OF UNHOLY TOLEDO.

There’s gonna need to be a fight scene soon. Two-thirds of the party rather badly wants to Smite some Evil right now. They’re only not chastising the wicked as they go because the wicked are outnumbering them thousands to one, and some very irate people are going to be coming over the wall anyway. It’s gonna be bad in the city, when it falls – and that’ll be despite the best efforts of the army about to overrun it.

The three of them moved as quickly as they dared through the blossoming outrages and atrocities playing out in the courtyard. Nate and Maddox’s hands were white-knuckled on their weapons by the time they reached the vile temple’s alcove; the Monsignor looked almost bored, not even bothering to leer or chortle. “Prepare yourselves, stout warriors,” he told the two men. “This is where steel may be of some use.”

“How bad will it be?” asked Maddox, flexing his fingers out of the stiffness his ire had imposed on them. “And how many will there be.”

“I have absolutely no idea,” the Monsignor told them with a grin that almost seemed sincere. “There may be fighting, within, unless they’ve all done us the favor of a mass suicide pact already. As for numbers?” He shrugged. “Fewer than the ones who entered the Fane. When rats cannot abandon a sinking ship, they naturally will turn on each other. Men are much the same, only more inventive about it.”

This is all I have to say about that.

I am alive, and the people who wanted me dead are not. Which is how I wanted it to go.

Boxes came in! I can start processing Kickstarter orders tomorrow.

And thank goodness for that. I hope to have all the books signed and ready for shipping by the end of the week, and then it’s just a matter of getting the sampler in shape. Then the TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 2: LIGHTS IN THE DARKNESS Kickstarter is done. Huzzah!

Modders unlock full BALDUR’S GATE 3 mod kit. :wink:

As I understand it, when Larian Studios released the mod kit for BALDUR’S GATE 3 a few days ago they left some of the tools greyed out and inaccessible. Why? Well, they say ‘complexity,’ but I suspect they mean ‘Hasbro.’ Copyright violations of D&D, copyright violations of other IPs, copyright violations involving porn* – take your pick, the company’s probably going to freak out over it. So they released a restricted mod kit.

Which has been unrestricted, to absolutely nobody’s shock. “Nexus Mods user Siegfre uploaded a new mod that unlocks all the potential features squirreled away in the Baldur’s Gate 3 mod toolkit. With this mod, aptly named BG3 Toolkit Unlocked, players will be able to add new maps and campaigns to the game, really opening the possibility for players to build their own campaigns in the CRPG.”

Check that space in six months for the first epic campaigns. Because you know some glorious madman will decide that now is the time for a proper Ravenloft full-world mod. …Okay, I meant that as a joke but that would actually be pretty cool.

Everybody knows that modders make NSFW material, but Hasbro absolutely does not want to officially give people the tools to drag in entities from other licensed properties Hasbro owns, solely that the player can [expletive deleted] them. Although there is, God help us all, probably a lot of money in that.
