6As Book: Preview 00 – Introduction to Discovering Your Human Algorithm
Excerpt from The 6As by Zachary S. Brooks (Dr. Z) – Introduction and Learning
Introduction to the 6As
When do you feel the most fulfilled? When do you feel a sweet equilibrium of your mind and spirit while doing an activity? Which moments do you look back on with the fondest sensations? Which moments do you look forward to the most?
Everyone has their own answers.
I’ve asked myself these questions and for me I am the most fulfilled when I engaged in one of the 6As of life – Athletics, Adventure, Academics, Art, Advocacy, The Human Algorithm.
In the following pages, I’ll share my definitions of each A but let’s be clear.
Athletics is about movement, not being a professional athlete.
Adventure is about the process of discovery and not necessarily extreme adventure.
Academics is about reflection and learning, not about getting a degree.
Art is about creation, without a label.
Advocacy is about helping others without reward.
The Human Algorithm is about life processes on planet earth for the 21st century. It’s the hardest to define but the most essential. It is a byproduct of a combination of the other A’s but it is wholly its own mist-like entity.
Any wisdom in these pages is like finding a long-lost friend. Others have assessed the world and shared their wisdom before. I claim no special knowledge merely I seek to put an illuminating frame on human practices in order to live life with meaning and purpose.

The Daily Decision: Season 1 (2019) Episode 02: Decision Making Definitions
Hello Hello This is Dr. Z, Zachary Brooks, with The Daily Decision
because you want to make better decisions.
Today is the second episode of The Daily Decision and we are going to jump right into the definition of decision making.
Decision making is …
the action or process of making decisions, especially important ones.
That’s easy enough but what isn’t easy is making “good,” “the best” or “the right” decisions for ourselves or others.
Decision making is based on your values, preferences, and beliefs
Sometimes with facts and analysis …
Think of a decision you have made in your life that was a good one.
Now think of a bad decision.
I bet you can think of a bad decision more readily.
In the next episodes, we will start to un-peel the smelly and tasty onion of decision making, 1-minute at a time on The Daily Decision for Everyone.
As always, Happy Deciding.
Dr. Z
