Robert Roth lives in Indian Trail, North Carolina with his wife Diane. They have two grown children and a large extended family, which is a source of endless entertainment. Formerly a software developer and project manager, Rob now enjoys spending his free time on various outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and bicycling. These pursuits take him to various beautiful locations where he can also exercise his passion for nature photography. Other interests include movies and reading, especially on the topics of science, faith, and lucid dreaming, which are often reflected in his writings.

When I have gotten stuck in a story, it is usually because I've taken it down a cer…moreIronically, I think writer's block is a prison we build ourselves. When I have gotten stuck in a story, it is usually because I've taken it down a certain path in the story and then can't figure out how to go forward. Usually when that happens, I have to instead back up. Maybe that path just doesn't work. Is there something better? More grand and glorious? Think outside the box, don't stay trapped inside the box. Remember, you can do ANYTHING in your story. It's your creation. Also, don't think you have to write that day. Take a break if you wish, and do something fun that you enjoy. Once you are refreshed, give it another shot.(less)

It is a small reflection of w…moreThrough your words you are able to create any world you can imagine, any way you wish it to be. It is ultimate creation. It is a small reflection of what God does. The only difference is His words became flesh. Mine became a novel. But it's a pretty nice feeling to see your creation come to life in words and print. As I write this, I am thinking how I can't wait to do this again!(less)
