The Doctor’s Love – Love in the Times of Corona Story 1
I was sitting in his cabin, social distancing and everything in place. I had come to see him for my father. There he was sitting, observing, talking about the Covid. Every precaution was taken, but he was a bit restless, his feathers a bit ruffled, and but he was opening his clinic religiously. He talked about realities, even about politics, and yet he remained himself, he remained the person I’d known since childhood.
‘There’s of course age factor, so we have to treat it as if it is Covid, a...

Rasbhari – A Small Town Story with Big Aspirations of Questioning the Taboos
Watch Rasbhari if you are open and unbiased. Either you will feel it is a a touche topic dealt with because of the sensual angle to a teacher. Or, you will feel sick about how we go about things in our daily life – without ever thinking about it. It isn’t a sensual web series. If you are in for that, you will be disappointed.
RG’s Blog’s Take on Rasbhari!
It took me a couple of days (rather more) to attempt to write this feature (I’m not calling it a Rasbhari review – except for the SEO part)....

Untitled, Unheard
The insides of an introvert
Calculative, manipulative,
Controlling every outburst
New tacts, imaginative
The world is an extrovert
This minority, ignominati,
All the biases are talked,
This minority, very rarely
How do you talk the unknown
They can speak, the lost freak,
Introverts are clearly at fault
They don’t say, don’t convey

Lessons that young film makers can learn from Basu Chatterjee
Basu Chatterjee left us for heavenly abode on 4th June 2020 after a long and fulfilling life. For many young people, this name might not be very familiar but for those who followed Hindi cinema in the 70s and 80s, or those who are movie buffs, this would be a big loss. Alongside Hrishikesh Mukharjee and Basu Bhattacharya, Chatterjee was pivotal in making films that are termed as ” middle of the road cinema. ” i.e. The cinema which can neither be called mainstream and nor parallel cinema. The tri...

RIP Sushant Singh Rajput, But Are We Even Learning?
As it is curtains to the appearance of one of the shining stars of the play, we hope the impact is brighter for everyone to observe, despite the gloom presently.
RIP Sushant Singh Rajput
We have lost an actor today. At 34, he was successful, a charming and well-established actor and all set to pursue the heights of his career. Yet, he succumbed to something really deep, a sinister plan of the world to hide the weaknesses and blur the problems as minor sadness. I have heard people say ‘depressi...
Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai – Kashyap Continues to Experiment Successfully
Anurag Kashyap has once again proved that he is not afraid to come out of his comfort zone. Many directors after reaching this stage of their career might lack the initiative to experiment with their genre and themes, but Kashyap continues to baffle us. Choked is unlike any of his dark political and social films. It is personal and humane.
Aman Arora’s Take on Choked – Guest Post on RG’s Blog
If you have not been living under a rock and have been remotely actively on Twitter, you would be pre...

Gulabo Sitabo – A Sepia Toned Film about Beautiful Life Lessons
One line: Gulabo Sitabo is avoidable for most of the people. The film will speak to its select audience, who won’t be able to avoid it. The film is far from perfect, but the world of the film is something that draws you in slowly but surely. I’ll need another couple of times to see this film, and although I know the film isn’t for theaters, such textures and tones on screen would have been magical.
RG’s Blog Take on Gulabo Sitabo
If you’ve come here, you already know the premise of the film. T...

Stole the Identity with a Splash – Chhapaak will break you apart, yet make you more humane!
The film is on hotstar. If you’ve missed the film, you’ve missed an important lesson in life. Nothing negative, just the fact that you can go on despite anything and everything – and you are far luckier than the unfortunate situations Laxmi found herself in. The message is that we can beat anything, if only we take the first step with courage.
RG’s Blog Take on Chhapaak
I had decided not to watch much trailers, also the real story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal before watching the film....

Chintu ka Birthday: A Small Film with a Large Heart
To sum it up: this film will literally blow your mind. Miss it at your own risk, this world is adorable, even if a bit harsh.
RG’s Blog Analysis
Some of the films come like fresh air, yet they take us by storm. This little film will blow your mind. Why would I call this film little, you may ask? It is basically because of the size of the central character – Chintu – who is celebrating his 6th birthday.
The premise is simple – a 6 year old wanting to celebrate his birthday, with a cake and a...
