I did have writers block when I started out. I would run more than usual, pounding the pavement with my frustration.

After a few years of this, I began waiting for the fog to lift on its own. I would begin to let those voices in my head be heard one by one and be compartmentalized into sections-what I call boxes-in my head.

I have never sat in front of a computer waiting for the words and the feelings to surface. I rather imagine scenarios while I clean the house, play mum's taxi or even ironing the endless white shirts my kids wear with their uniforms.

With writing Into The Void, I borrowed from Haruki Murakami's philosophy; I write until I get that feeling that I can write forever and then I stop. This gave me enough space and energy to continue on the next day. It makes the writing exciting and keeps it fresh; like an old couple who refuse to let their romance-the one at the beginning when they dated die.(less)

I am an introvert. Really, I fumble with people who I know, and do not know. I always replay my conversations with people minutes or hours after.

I always find that I could have said something more intelligible, witty or funny. When I write, I can release the funny, the witty side of myself, in real time.

I am nothing like my characters, I just love being in their space and environment.

I prefer to write shorter works because I enjoy capturing the one crucial episode in the characters life.

Writing is like breathing, I feel complete.(less)
