What’s new?

Ahhh!! I feel like sooooo much has been going on lately. I’m just in such a hectic stage of life, and to be honest I probably wouldn’t change a single bit of it.

Well, I mean… almost.. If I could have complete focus so I can get work done, that’d be nice!

My kiddos are heading back to school next week, and I’m both excited and a complete train wreck for them. Fourth grade is scary and so is Kindergarten when you’re little. That means I only have one year left with my youngest before he s...

Charged – J. Akridge

C O V E R R E V E A L

Let me tell you about this story! AH! It seriously owns me, that’s how much I loved writing it.

I started this story in January of 2020, with no plan because I rarely outline and have only recently started trying to outline my books. I had this feeling of wanting to write a story with a strong male hero, one that had some type of history in the military… because DUH! We swoon for Military Men!

I had no plans for this story, until a friend of mine told me to...

Distractions are a part of life, right?

A lot of times when people find out I have three young kids, two Great Danes, a needy Yorkie, and a husband just like any other… I’m asked this same question.

How do you do it?

My answer every single time is the same. “I just do.” Because, honestly, I don’t have any other choice, right? I mean, I chose this life of being an author. I wanted this. This is my dream, not theres. My family, bratty, needy pups are always first. Always. Granted, I have to juggle times that aren’t always id...

BOOK REVIEW TIME!!

Saint – E.M. Snow

Oh, man oh man!

This book is just .. WOW! That’s really all I can say!

Blurb:
At Angelview Academy, Saint Angelle is considered God.
But don’t be fooled by his ridiculous name or that pretty face because Saint? He’s as wicked as they come.
I should know.
I’m the new girl who pissed him off.
The nobody who called out his crew of vicious tyrants.
The mortal who wouldn’t bow then and sure as hell won’t now.
Saint swears I’ll regret it.
He vows to own every inch of me.
He ev...

Pantser or Planner?

Happy April! It’s April 1st and I promise there are no April Fools jokes here, although I have plenty planned for the members of my household today. It’s tradition, after-all.

Today, I wanted to touch base on something that is a really popular topic in the author world. If you have TikTok, I’m sure you’ve seen the videos of authors talking about being a pantser or a planner.

Here’s the run down.
A planner is someone who carefully sculpts their work and has it planned out to the tinie...

It’s been busy…

It’s been so busy around here.

Everyday, I get my morning starting with a full day planned of writing and editing. And every single day, I work my tail off editing Foul Shot only to demand I take a nap in the afternoon.

Then, I head to pick my kids up from school and the rest of the day is shot and I suddenly regret that nap. Okay, regrets a strong word. And can you really regret napping?

But, I’ve been so busy getting these edits done for Foul Shot so that it’s ready for your hands on June ...

Why do I read?

Why do I read?

Surprisingly, I’m asked this a lot and it’s not that exciting at all.

But, I’ll tell you anyways.

Reading is an escape for me. It allows me to become the characters in the books I read and I can visualize everything that is happening. And I’m a hopeless romantic, but I also like the conflict some books bring.

Think about it? These characters live lives that some of us may never get to experience. So being able to live through the characters is one of my favorite things.
