Throwback Thursday: "I Want To Be Your Lover"
Today's throwback is all about a one hit wonder. Have you ever had a song running through your head and you can't remember who sang it or even what the title of the song is? Have you ever kept singing parts of it to people and nobody else can remember it either? Was the song a one hit wonder?
I had that problem with Aleese Simmons' "I Want To Be Your Lover."
I was singing various parts of the song, goggling the parts of the lyrics I could remember, everything. And I couldn't find the song. I ...

Sins of the Mother: a movie based on the novel Orange Mint and Honey
The Lifetime Movie Network's adaptation of Carleen Brice's amazing novel will air this Sunday 2/21/10 at 8:00 pm. The book was amazing! Here's what I wrote in my Shelfari review after reading it:

"This was an amazing tale of forgiveness and personal growth. From the first page, Shay jumped of the page at me and the powerful prose refused to let me go. I laughed out loud, felt extreme sadness, and had moments of deep thought and contemplation as I read this novel. The relationship between...

Throwback Thursday: Ceybil Jefferies/Sweet Sable
I figured I throw out a Throwback Thursday for old times sake. Today's throwback is an artist who actually went by two different names. (Hey… sort of like me… LOL)
She did house/club music as Ceybil Jefferies…
And she did a hip-hop soul/R&B as Sweet Sable…
Her Sweet Sable CD, Old Times' Sake, will always be a classic, in my opinion. It's one of those CDs that you can play each and every track without skipping. The funny thing is I actually loved her club song "Love So Special" and had no idea t...

Love That Girl
There's a new sitcom called Love that Girl. The first four episodes came on TV One today. They're hoping that folks will like the show and they'll get picked up for more episodes. I thought it was sort of funny. But then, I'm going through a there-are-no-black-sitcoms-on-TV-these-days withdrawal. Here's an article about it:
Love That Girl article in the Washington Post
And here's the promotional ad:
I think it could get better if they are given a chance. But it seems a lot better than any of...
