My driving skills
Just back from quite an exhausting couple of days at the Hay Festival, which is my excuse for still not writing the promised blog about music and inspiration. Anyway, David Nobbs and I thoroughly enjoyed our Festival event – we felt lucky to have (at ten o'clock in the morning) such an enthusiastic and responsive audience. Many thanks to everyone who came along.

Chiasso
I had a great time at the literature festival in Chiasso last weekend. Many thanks to the organisers - especially to Simona and Manuela, for their companionship - and to all the people who came along to the event and spoke to me afterwards.
I travelled back to London by train and have written a short piece about my journey for the Financial Times, which was published today.

So, I've finally decided to join the 21st century and set up a website. A lot of readers have been asking me why I don't have my own site, so I thought it was time to cave in to the pressure gracefully. I hope you'll find it useful and interesting.
