Brazen Angel is Free

As of this post, you will find the ebook of Brazen Angel free. Everywhere. Took some doing, but given that this is Brazen Angel’s 20th anniversary, I thought it would be fun to give back some love.

After all this book, and all of you, started all of this.

The cool part of Brazen Angel has as much to do about the back story of how it was published, as it does the adventures of Sophia and Giles. Brazen AngelBut seriously, have your read, My Favorite Hero? If not, go ahead and click on it. Read the story and then come back. I’ll wait. . . . Are you crying? I can’t read that without getting all teary eyed.

And yes, he’s still a hero. Most days. LOL.

So if you’ve loved Brazen Angel, tell a friend that it’s free. If you haven’t read it, now’s your chance. And tell a friend while you are at it. Tell all your Facebook pals, throw it on your shelf at Goodreads and Tweet your hearts out–if you are inclined to those things.

And in the meantime, Brazen Angel will remain free. Free to be downloaded and read. Free to be enjoyed. That’s worth sharing.

Who Said It Answered

So who said the following?

“A few minutes ago you couldn’t wait to leave and now you want to stay?”

“That was before I killed a man,” she offered, coming up with the only excuse she could other than the truth.

“You didn’t kill anyone. You only winged him.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

She glanced back up the stairs, where even now a tide of servants was rushing to the aid of their master. “I think his injury will be grave, for I’ve never missed before.”

That just happens to be Olivia SuttonOnce Tempted and Robert Danvers in Once Tempted.

You can read the excerpt from ONCE TEMPTED or order your own copy for this, the first book I wrote in the wildly popular Danvers series. The best sort of #FridayReads.

Who Said It: Challenge Accepted

You all know my books too well, so I’m digging in and hoping this one is a stumper. So Who Said It?

“A few minutes ago you couldn’t wait to leave and now you want to stay?”

“That was before I killed a man,” she offered, coming up with the only excuse she could other than the truth.

“You didn’t kill anyone. You only winged him.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

She glanced back up the stairs, where even now a tide of servants was rushing to the aid of their master. “I think his injury will be grave, for I’ve never missed before.”

Is it:

1) Harriet Hathaway and Roxley from If Wishes Were Earls

2) Olivia Sutton and Robert Danvers from Once Tempted

3) Lily D’Artiers and Webb Dryden from Brazen Heiress

I’ll post the answer tomorrow.

Who Said It Revealed

Did you guess that it was Lady Hermione Marlowe and her mother, Lady Walbrook, talking in this exchange?

“…and now that he is inclined to marry—“

“I don’t think the earl has any intention of—“

“Of course he intends to marry. He made his bow at Almack’s.”

Which of course every matron in London knew was code for: I wish to marry your daughter immediately.

If you did–good for you! If not, I tried my hardest to make it a bit of a stumper. Tempted by the Night

You can read the excerpt from TEMPTED BY THE NIGHT or order your own copy for an sexy trip into the dark side of Regency England on #FridayReads.

Did You Guess Who Said It?

So who said the following:

“You lied,” she said, going toe-to-toe with the man before her. “You told me he still loved me, wanted me.” She glanced over her shoulder and shuddered at the sight of him. “What he wants is a good bath and his ration of rum tossed overboard.”

This one, at least to me, was pretty easy and obvious. It has to be Lady Philippa, Memoirs of a Scandalous Red Dressor as I always call her, Pippin, talking about her beloved Dash, after finding him all those years later. I absolutely adore this book, Memoirs of a Scandalous Red Dress, because it covered what felt like a lifetime of missed chances, and a second (well, probably a third or fourth) chance at happiness.

You can read the excerpt from MEMOIRS OF A SCANDALOUS RED DRESS here, or order your own copy to settle in tonight for an adventurous and romantic #FridayReads.

Please continue to join me every Thursday to match your wits with Who Said It, and come back Friday to find out if you got it right. You can try previous Who Said It challenges here and here.

Answer to Yesterday’s “Who Said It?”

So who said the following:

“Have you any idea of the danger you could find here? Of the nature of men?”

She plucked herself free. “I’m well aware of the nature of men. I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”

As much as it sounds like Roselie Stratton from Six Impossible Things, and most definitely like my favorite headstrong runaway daughter of a duke, Lady Arabella Tremont from Mad About the Major, this bit comes from a exchange between that gentleman pirate, Captain Colin Danvers, and the mysterious woman he meets and takes home from the Cyprian Ball, Georgie, in One Night of Passion.

You can read the excerpt from Colin and Georgie’s story here, or order your own copy to settle in tonight for an adventurous and romantic #FridayReads.

Please continue to join me every Thursday to match your wits with Who Said It, and come back Friday to find out if you got it right. Want to try the previous challenges? Go to Who Said It 1, and Who Said It 2.

So Who Did Say It?

So who said the following:

“I disagree,” she said, drawing shocked looks from nearly everyone at the table. “My father was afraid of the company one finds in those schools. It was his belief that the polish that you think so highly of, Miss Cottwell, gives a young lady a false sense of pride and superiority that men find off putting. Would you say that was your experience?”

Brazen Temptress

None other than my favorite Pirate turned Lady, Maureen Hawthorne from Brazen Temptress. You can read the excerpt here, or order your own copy for a fun #FridayReads.

Join me every Thursday to match your wits with Who Said It, and come back Friday to find out if you got it right.
