Colbert Toasts QAnon Shaman for Turning on Trump Over Epstein, Then Backtracks Over Even Weirder Conspiracy Theory | Video

Stephen Colbert continued amusing himself this week by discussing the ongoing news drops about Donald Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein during his monologue. And at one point, he was forced to give props to an unlikely recipient: The so-called “QAnon shaman,” whose real name is Jake Chansley.

But immediately after, Colbert had to walk that back because of an extremely weird conspiracy theory spread by Chansley.

Colbert got to the joke by noting that the Epstein scandal “is costing Trump a lot of allies. The latest to jump ship is the QAnon Shaman. This has deep repercussions, because when you lose the Q shaman, you inevitably lose Fred Barney and the entire loyal order of the water buffalo,” Colbert joked, comparing the famous headdress worn by Chansley to characters from the classic cartoon series “Flintstones.”

“In response to a photo of Trump on social media,” Colbert continued, “the shaman wrote ‘this stupid piece of s—, what a fraud.’ Now listen, I don’t I don’t agree what this man has said and done in the past, but now that he has posted this, I just want to say, Mr. Shaman. Mr. Shaman. A toast to you. A toast to you.”

As he said this, Colbert poured champagne into a glass, then continued, “let’s see what else he wrote about this administration. ‘Special Presidential Envoy Richard Grinnell possesses the ability to bite people and inject them with venom that allows those subjected to the venom to become under a hypnotic spell.'”

At this , Colbert started pouring the champagne back into the bottle, joking, “Just get that back in there… save it for later.”

There’s lots more and you can watch the entire Colbert monologue below:

‘Resident Alien’ Canceled Ahead of Season 4 Finale on USA Network

Pour one out for “Resident Alien.” The science fiction comedy/mystery has been canceled by USA Network with three more episodes left to air in the current Season 4, TheWrap has learned.

The show, starring fan favorite Alan Tudyk, will air its final episode Aug. 8.

The series debuted in 2021 on SyFy and remained there for its first three seasons. It was renewed for Season 4 in 2023 and relocated to USA Network at the same time.

Based on the Dark Horse comics, “Resident Alien” centers on Harry (Tudyk), a crash-landed alien whose secret mission is to kill all humans, who has taken on the appearance of one such murdered human to live among them. Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, Levi Fiehler, Elizabeth Bowen, Judah Prehn and Meredith Garretson also starred.

Chris Sheridan adapted the show for television and served as showrunner, as well as an executive producer alongside Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV and Nastaran Dibai. “Resident Alien” was produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment.

“Resident Alien” was part of USA Network’s return to scripted programming alongside the upcoming TV adaptation of John Grisham’s “The Rainmaker,” from Lionsgate and Blumhouse Television, which premieres August 15.

The network was once a basic cable scripted powerhouse, regularly rolling out crowd-pleasing hits like “Psych,” “Burn Notice,” “Covert Affairs,” “Suits” and “White Collar” as well as “Monk,” which originally ran on ABC but switched to USA for Season 2 where it had a long and celebrated run.

TV Insider originally reported the news.

‘South Park’ Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone Sidestep Trump and Paramount at Comic-Con Panel

“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone absolutely roasted their employer’s settlement with Donald Trump as well as the president himself during the show’s Season 27 premiere Wednesday night. But the duo’s appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, their first in almost a decade, was largely free of controversy or political talk.

Parker and Stone appeared as part of Comedy Central’s overall adult animation panel, alongside “Beavis and Butthead” creator Mike Judge and actor-comedian Andy Samberg. The panel was held the day after not only the aforementioned Season 27 premiere, but also the pair’s signing of a $1.5 billions streaming deal with Comedy Central owner Paramount Global.

The panel kicked of though with a joke referencing Trump’s angry reaction to the Season Premiere. “We’re terribly sorry,” Parker quipped when asked by panel moderator Josh Horowitz about it shortly after Parker and Stone took the stage.

— Jeremy Wein (@thismyshow) July 25, 2025

Later in the panel, Horowitz joked, “I have a subpoena for you,” prompting “I’m ready” from Parker and some light chuckles in the audience. And later still, when asked what fans could expect from the rest of “South Park” Season 27, Matt Stone joked, “no politics.”

But otherwise, anyone expecting the creative team to diss Paramount or Trump — or simply comment on the news earlier Thursday that, after a series of concessions (or what critics argue were blatant attempts to curry favor), the Trump administration finally approved the Paramount-Skydance merger — likely came away somewhat bummed out.

Even so, in a relative rarity for a Thursday night, Hall H was packed with fans in a way normally seen at the big Saturday events studios like Marvel and Warner Bros. put on. Though the fact both of the big super hero factories are sitting this year’s SDCC out might play as much a role as Parker and Stone’s continuing cultural relevance.

Mostly the panel was a typically Hall H chat about how creators work and what’s upcoming from their projects. At one point, Parker gave a glimpse into the raw-dog way “South Park” episodes are produced, explaining, “We were at ‘South Park’ this morning trying to figure out what next week’s show is going to be. So right now, we don’t know and so, but that’s how the show’s always been. And because it’s animated the way it is, we can sculpt it and sculpt it and build it. And we, you know, we do it a lot like they did ‘SNL.'”

“I mean, it seems like it’s very stressful, the way, I don’t know what the episode is next week. It’s super stressful,” Parker added shortly after.

Meanwhile, if you never saw it, the Season 27 premiere roasted not only Paramount but also the myriad other institutions other companies who have chosen to settle with Donald Trump rather than fight back against his harassment lawsuits and institutional abuses.

“Sermon on the Mount” depicted Trump literally in bed with Satan, involved Trump suing the town of South Park, and featured a parody of the biblical sermon of the title in which the show’s version of Jesus Christ urged everyone to fear and obey Trump.

At the end, as one character explains, the town of South Park settles with Trump and agrees as part of the settlement produce pro-Trump content pro bono — which the show does via the fake PSA touting Trump’s greatness as a fake version of the current president struggles through a desert, removing his clothing until he’s naked. At which point the fake Trump’s very tiny penis turns out to be able to talk. “Trump: His penis is teeny tiny, but his love for America is large,” the fake ad concluded.

The White House angrily denounced the episode on Thursday in a statement that called “South Park” a “fourth-rate” that “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

Earlier this week, Parker and Stone resolved their months-long conflict with Paramount Global over streaming rights with a new global deal with $1.5 billion over 5 years. This deal includes 50 new episodes of “South Park” and finally brings both the current season as well as all 26 previous seasons to Comedy Central and Paramount+ for the first time.

‘And Just Like That’ Delivers an Inevitable Breakup, but Is It Really the End?

Note: This story contains spoilers from “And Just Like That” Season 3, Episode 9.

“And Just Like That” just gave viewers a breakup that seemed inevitable, but is it really the end for this “Sex and the City” couple?

Episode 9, titled “Present Tense,” followed as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) dealt with lingering trust issues in their relationship which, after a season’s worth of compromises, finally pushed Carrie to call it quits. Her working relationship with Duncan (Jonathan Cake) had been making Aidan uncomfortable for some time now, but this week’s late notetaking session between him and Carrie led to the final argument.

Stuck in the past

Early in the episode, Carrie was surprised to find that Aidan and her neighbor were hanging out. The hangout made her uncomfortable since she had asked Aidan to stay away, assuring him that there was only a professional connection between the two authors.

Carrie confided in Seema (Sarita Choudhury) about the awkward moment, which prompted the friend to admit that Aidan had been asking about Duncan behind his girlfriend’s back. Carrie gave him the benefit of the doubt at first, recalling how their relationship ended the first time when she cheated on him with John, who she then married. But that was decades ago, so she figured the lingering trust issues could be something they could get past.

That night, as Carrie and Duncan went through notes about his latest chapter, Aidan interrupted to try to invite them both to dinner — which Carrie declined on both their behalves, reminding Aidan she wanted to keep things professional. When she went back upstairs later that night, Aidan lashed out at her and the pair spent the night in separate rooms.

Carrie was not ready to let things go the next morning, so she went on a shopping walk after exchanging some more harsh words with Aidan. He later texted her to meet for lunch, which she agreed to, expecting an apology. Instead, he doubled down, saying he still has trouble trusting her with other men.

Aidan’s words stung Carrie, prompting her to walk away from the lunch. Aidan stopped her on the street and she said that after all the compromises she’s made for him, the fact he can’t move on from the past is the final dealbreaker. After all the trials of the past season, it seemed like they really broke up after Aidan moved his stuff out of her home. Carrie ended the episode with narration having no future with her partner.

So is Aidan really gone for good? Will Carrie keep things professional with Duncan now that she’s no longer attached? With three episodes left in Season 3, anything is possible.

Drama and usual “And Just Like That” shenanigans aside, Episode 9 featured an iconic “Sex and the City” character returning for a blink-and-you’ll miss it cameo.

As Carrie walked around Barney’s after her fight with Aidan — but before the official breakup — she got an assist from shoe salesman Danny (Andy Cohen). He offered her to try on a pair of shoes, but she politely declined.

The Bravo megaproducer and “Watch What Happens Live” host previously played the salesman in the final season of “Sex and the City,” making this one of the more meta cameos on the show yet. The cameo is also a nod to Cohen’s real-life friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker.

“And Just Like That” releases new episodes Thursdays on HBO Max.

Kelly Osbourne Shares Touching Tribute to Late Father Ozzy, Remembering Him in His Own Words: ‘I Lost the Best Friend I Ever Had’

Kelly Osbourne spoke out about the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, for the first time on Thursday. Rather than issuing a formal statement, Kelly shared some lyrics from the Black Sabbath song “Changes,” which came out during the Prince of Darkness’ time with the band.

“I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had 💔” Kelly shared in an Instagram story.

“Changes” originated as a Black Sabbath song, inspired by drummer Bill Ward’s separation from his first wife. Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne later re-recorded the song as a single in 2003, turning it into a father-daughter duet. You can listen to this version of the song below.

Ozzy Osbourne died Tuesday at the age of 76, with no cause of death yet given. The rock musician struggled for many years with multiple health issues, including a Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis which he shared for the first time publicly in 2020.

Ozzy Osbourne was an iconic musician who served as the lead singer and frontman for the band Black Sabbath. After he was removed from the band, he later launched a successful career as a solo musician. Known as the Prince of Darkness, the heavy metal singer went on to find a sort of second life in the public eye through his MTV series “The Osbournes,” which helped transform reality television.

In early July, Ozzy Osbourne performed a charity concert with Black Sabbath, titled “Back to the Beginning” which was meant to be both a reunion and a farewell. Following his death, Ozzy Osbourne’s performance of his hit song “Mama, I’m Coming Home” at the concert started making the rounds on social media, with fans saying it felt like “he was saying goodbye” through the performance.

The song “Mama, I’m Coming Home” nods to his wife, Sharon Osbourne, whom he often called “Mama” as a pet name. The title refers to something the singer would tell her over the phone at the end of his tours. Sharon Osbourne has yet to release a public statement on her husband’s death.

The Band Gets Back Together in ‘Spinal Tap II: The End Continues’ Trailer

After more than 40 years of clamoring, fans have finally gotten a glimpse at the return of some mock rock legends in the trailer for “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.”

The trailer for the “This Is Spinal Tap” sequel features the reunion of the iconic band from Rob Reiner’s 1984 directorial debut. Reiner returns to direct, write and star in the long-awaited sequel to his original music mockumentary. Joining him as actors and writers are Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer — all of whom starred in and co-wrote the original film.

In the new trailer, Reiner returns as Martin “Marty” Di Bergi, a fictional documentarian who “directed” the original documentary about the band Spinal Tap’s 1982 tour for their album “Smell the Glove.” Since the events of the first movie, the members have all gone their separate ways. Footage shows David St. Hubbins (McKean) playing in a mariachi band, Derek Smalls (Shearer) peddling cryptocurrency and Nigel Tufnel (Guest) selling cheese by day and performing pub music by night.

However, Marty and the trio reunite for one final concert set 15 years after their last performance. The band plans to take the stage at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans after a cancellation for the event “An Evening with Stormy Daniels” provides them an opportune vacancy. You can watch the trailer, below.

Several real-world musicians also appear in the trailer alongside the fictional rock group. In an early scene, Paul McCartney praises the band’s poetic lyricism. Later, Questlove turns down the opportunity to become Spinal Tap’s new drummer — a position left once again open after their 11th percussionist “sneezed himself into oblivion.”

Near the trailer’s end, Elton John unites with the band to perform their iconic number, “Stonehenge,” alongside the group. Plus, the iconography of the Wiltshire monument is used to evoke the roman numeral II in the film’s title.

Bleecker Street will release “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” in theaters on Sept. 12. In early July, the company teamed with Fathom Entertainment to re-release the original “This Is Spinal Tap” in theaters for its 41st anniversary.

Elizabeth Warren Condemns Paramount-Skydance Merger FCC Approval: ‘Bribery Is Still Illegal’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren condemned the Paramount-Skydance deal on Thursday shortly after the FCC approved the $8 billion merger by a vote of 2-1.

“Trump’s government just approved Paramount’s merger with Skydance. Sure looks like they paid Donald Trump $36 million for this merger,” she wrote on X. “Bribery is illegal no matter who is president.”

“Trump approved Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance, another giant media company. This could be corruption, and here’s the reason why,” Warren said in an accompanying video. “Maybe you saw that Stephen Colbert’s show was canceled last week. Well, just three days before it was canceled, Colbert called out Trump and Paramount, which is CBS’s parent company, for making a deal that looks like a quote, ‘big fat bribe.’ Those were his words.”

“So what’s that quote, unquote, ‘potential bribe’ that Colbert was referring to? Trump filed a sham lawsuit against CBS, but instead of fighting it, CBS’s parent company Paramount paid Trump $16 million to his future presidential library. So you got to ask, why’d Paramount do that if the suit was quote, ‘meritless?’ Well, maybe because they needed Trump to approve their multi-billion dollar merger, which Trump just did,” she continued. “The appearance of this wink, wink deal basically lets every other company and every other billionaire know that Trump is open for business, apparently happy to accept offers in exchange for favors.”

“On top of that, this deal is bad for competition and could make it more expensive for you to stream your favorite TV shows or movies or sports or whatever,” the senator added. “So just like I’ve been doing for weeks, I’m calling for an urgent independent investigation into this Paramount deal to see if this was actually bribery. And make no mistake, these CEOs may think that they can get away with anything they want, but they are not immune from the law. Bribery is still illegal.”

“None of us can be silent about this, because you better believe Donald Trump isn’t stopping here. Already he’s seemingly running the same play by suing the Wall Street Journal for publishing a story that Trump doesn’t like about his apparent relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” Warren concluded. “But every single one of us needs to show Trump and the CEOs that we see what they are doing, and we will not be silenced.”

BREAKING NEWS: Trump's government just approved Paramount's merger with Skydance.

Bribery is illegal no matter who is president. pic.twitter.com/DE7LPRjT6X

— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) July 24, 2025

The long-awaited approval comes after a 251-day wait and just one day after Skydance agreed to appoint an ombudsman at CBS to review complaints of bias and to eliminate all diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at Paramount.

It also comes three weeks after Paramount reached a $16 million legal settlement with President Donald Trump over the editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Warren, as well as fellow Sens. Bernie Sanders and Ron Wyden, had already launched an investigation into whether Trump and Skydance Media CEO David Ellison cut a side deal to secure regulatory approval. The trio also questioned whether Trump and/or Skydance were involved in getting “The Late Show” cancelled.

‘The Bear’ Season 4 Debuts to 917 Million Minutes, Ranking Midway on Nielsen Charts

“The Bear” scored solid viewership with the debut of its fourth season, pushing the FX series into Nielsen’s top 10 streaming charts.

As “The Bear” premiered all 10 episodes of its fourth season on Wednesday, June 25, the FX series tallied up 917 million viewing minutes in the five days from its release through June 29, per Nielsen. The demographic make up of “The Bear’s” streaming was fairly balanced between adults 18-49, which composed 51% of the audience, and adults 50+, which composed 46% of the audience.

The Season 4 debut boosted “The Bear” to become the No. 7 most-watched streaming program during the week of June 23, as well as the No. 5 most-watched streaming original during the week.

For comparison, “The Bear” Season 3 debuted to 1.2 billion viewing minutes last June during the comparable Wednesday to Sunday interval. During the week of its release, “The Bear” was the No. 3 most-watched streaming program and No. 1 most-watched original streaming show, with two-thirds of the audience composed of adults 18-49 years old.

“The Bear” Season 3 garnered similar viewership for the week after its premiere, before dropping to 781 million viewing minutes in its third week on Hulu. If last year is any indication, “The Bear” Season 4 could enjoy a similar bump next week.

Premiering the day after “The Bear” Season 4 was “Squid Game” Season 3, which dominated Nielsen’s streaming list by capturing 3.2 billion viewing minutes between its release on Friday, June 27 through June 29. The ginormous viewership marks the largest weekly streaming viewership a single title has seen since “The Night Agent” scored 3.11 billion minutes in January, but does not surpass the 2025 record of the 4.6 billion viewing minutes that “Squid Game” set following the release of its second season during the week of Dec. 30.

While no title came close to the viewership seen by “Squid Game,” “Love Island USA” scored impressive viewership well into its seventh season, tallying up 1.78 billion viewing minutes as both the No. 2 most-watched overall and streaming title. The viewership marks a new weekly high for the series, a feat “Love Island USA” has scored for three consecutive weeks.

Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th Birthday Album Included Notes From Bill Clinton, Vera Wang, Trump and Dozens More | Report

The Wall Street Journal revealed another president whose name appeared in Jeffrey Epstein’s resurfaced birthday book from 2003.

Former president Bill Clinton appeared in the leather-bound album, reviewed by the Journal. Epstein’s former girlfriend and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly wanted high-profile names to be included in the present for her then-boyfriend — Clinton being one of them. The album included messages from around five dozen individuals, most notably including President Donald Trump, Wall Street billionaire Leon Black, fashion designer Vera Wang, media executive Mort Zuckerman and former Victoria’s Secret head Leslie Wexner.

Clinton’s message, as reviewed by the Journal, was just a single paragraph in his “distinctive scrawl.” It read:

It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends.

The former president, who served two terms from 1993 to 2001, was photographed with Epstein and Maxwell at the White House in 1993. He was also known to have socialized with the financier turned convicted child sex offender in the early 2000s.

A spokesperson for Clinton reiterated to the Wall Street Journal that he cut ties with Epstein more than a decade before his 2019 arrest and was unaware of his crimes.

According to a statement from Clinton’s team in 2019, Clinton took four trips on Epstein’s private jet and once visited his Manhattan townhouse, each time with his Secret Service team and for reasons related to the Clinton Foundation’s work.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported on July 17 that President Donald Trump was also included in the 50th birthday journal, with a cryptic third-person fictional conversation between him and Epstein: “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” the concluding line read. The message also included a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman, according to the Journal’s report.

The next day Trump sued the reporters, the WSJ’s publisher Dow Jones and its parent company News Corp, claiming the letter was “nonexistent” and a “fake thing.”

A spokeswoman for Dow Jones said, “We have full confidence in the rigor and accuracy of our reporting, and will vigorously defend against any lawsuit.”

The leather-bound birthday album was divided into sections and even had a table of contents. Clinton and Trump were listed under the “Friends” section. Others were included under sections titled “Business,” “Science,” “Brooklyn” and “Family.”

The message from bridal designer Wang joked that Epstein should be put on “The Bachelor” and suggested they go on a shopping trip. The letter from Wexner, the retail billionaire, contained a short message and a drawing of what appeared to be a woman’s breasts. Both Wang and Wexner declined to comment to the Journal.

Wall Street billionaire Black’s message was a handwritten suggestive poem. The Journal included two lines of the poem in its report, which read:

Blonde, Red or Brunette, spread out geographically

With this net of fish, Jeff’s now ‘The Old Man and The Sea’

Other prominent names included in the birthday book were attorney Alan Dershowitz, billionaire and former Microsoft executive Nathan Myhrvold, the late modeling agency head Jean-Luc Brunel, the late Alan “Ace” Greenberg, the late James “Jimmy” Cayne.

The Wall Street Journal claimed that several digital copies of the birthday book exist. Pages have been reviewed by Justice Department officials who investigated Epstein and Maxwell years ago, according to people familiar with the matter, but it is unclear whether or not the pages are part of the Trump administration’s recent review of the Epstein case files.

Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name appeared in the Epstein files, according to a Wednesday report from the Wall Street Journal. The Trump administration claimed earlier this month, in joint findings from the Justice Department and the DOJ, that there was no incriminating Epstein “client list” to release or proof Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.

Epstein died in jail in 2019 after he was arrested on federal sex-trafficking charges. Maxwell was found guilty in 2021 of helping Epstein’s sex trafficking and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Trailer Lets the Killer Robots Loose

Universal and Blumhouse dropped the first “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” trailer on Thursday, ahead of the sequel’s panel at Comic-Con. The follow-up finds Josh Hutcherson reprising his role from the first film, which adapted the cult favorite video game to smashing success — it grossed nearly $300 million on a budget of just $20 million.

The sequel takes place a year after the events of the first film. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

The cast of “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” includes returning co-stars Theodus Crane as Jeremiah and the legendary Matthew Lillard as William Afton. The film features new characters played by Freddy Carter (“Shadow and Bone”), Wayne Knight (“Jurassic Park,” “Seinfeld”), Mckenna Grace (“Ghostbusters” franchise, “Annabelle Comes Home”) and horror icon Skeet Ulrich (“Scream”).

“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” is directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Emma Tammi and is written by game series creator Scott Cawthon. The film is produced by Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon, who together produced the first film.
