Three Presentations

At Network School, students have a unique chance to take the stage, share their ideas, and lead events on topics they’re passionate about. Over the past month, I had the privilege of giving three presentations that I’m excited to share with you, dear readers.

Each experience was a journey into something meaningful, from exploring how to give Chinese names to non-Chinese speakers interested in Chinese culture, to defining a personal brand, and even examining Aldous Huxley’s thought-provoking The ...

The Love Life of Digital Nomads

In recent years, dating apps and platforms geared towards digital nomads have gained increasing popularity. However, the majority of digital nomads are primarily interested in finding friends and travel companions. According to statistics, 35% of digital nomads use these apps to make friends, 32% are looking for travel partners, while only 16% are seeking dates, and a mere 13% are looking ...

Who's afraid of Mr Jones?

A propaganda model suggests that the “societal purpose” of the media is to teach and defend the economic, social, and political agenda of privileged groups that dominate the domestic society and the state. The media serve this purpose in many ways: through a selection of topics, distribution of concerns, framing of issues, filtering of information, emphasis and tone, and keeping debate within the bounds of acceptable premises.

When it comes ...

CHAPTER THREE: Finding Harmony with Myself and Life in Portugal

Digital Nomads Hub, Lisbon

Chiang Mai and Bali are long-established hubs for digital nomads. More recently, Mexico City and Istanbul have joined the list, while Portugal, especially after the pandemic, has become a top choice for many. Lisbon, in particular, has consistently been one of the most popular European cities for digital nomads, offering a relatively low cost...

A Glimpse of Tomorrow

When Network School was announced, my heart raced with excitement. As someone who has been following Balaji Srinivasan since 2021 and was deeply involved with his 1729 community, this felt like the natural next step in the Network State journey. Reading his book had already transformed my view of what future societies could look like, but now there was a chance to actually live it.

Of course, there were butterflies in my stomach. Three months on a remote island with strangers? Even for a digital ...

The Silent Evolution

What if the next stage of human evolution wasn’t a product of natural selection but of our own design? And what if it occurred without our conscious knowledge or consent?

Dr. Amelia Chen pondered these questions as she stared at the holographic display in her lab. Billions of nanobots streamed through a simulated human body, each a microscopic marvel of bioengineering. The Artificial Immune System (AIS) represented a decade of her life's work, designed to be the ultimate defense against disease. ...

The Quantum Dreamscape

In the 22nd century, humanity made a discovery that redefined reality itself: imagination was not merely a cognitive function, but a quantifiable, tangible energy. Dr. Sonia DeLaney, a theoretical physicist specializing in quantum consciousness, led the team that confirmed this startling truth. Their research revealed that the collective human imagination was the engine of time itself, shaping the very fabric of spacetime through a process they termed "quantum ideation."

Evan Li, a brilliant neur...

Essential Skill for Digital Nomads: Solitude

"Each one of us is alone in the world. He is shut in a tower of brass, and can communicate with his fellows only by signs, and the signs have no common value, so that their sense is vague and uncertain. We seek pitifully to convey to others the treasures of our heart, but they have not the power to accept them, and so we go lonely, side by side but not together, unable to know our fellows and unk...

Embracing Multiculturalism

I used to have little interest in Muslim culture or Middle Eastern countries, seeing them as distant and unfamiliar. I didn’t have friends from those regions, and my understanding was limited. However, after the Christchurch shootings on March 15, 2019, my work allowed me to engage in conversations with many colleagues from the Middle East. This opportunity prompted me to deeply explore Muslim culture, uncovering how much ...

Read Thousands of Books, Travel Thousands of Miles

During my years in New Zealand, I've focused on personal growth and shared useful insights on social media. This has allowed me to connect with many like-minded individuals, making my journey as a digital nomad far from lonely. When I reflect on this journey, the phrase "Read thousands of books, travel thousands of miles" perfectly captures my experience.

From a young age, I was an avid reader, and my earliest mem...
