Today’s Spotlight: Changes are coming.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Welcome to the special edition Blog.

Hey everyone! Rachel and I have decided to change things up with our BLOG. We've been asked by fans for more in world contect. So we thought it would be fun to switch it up and have the blog written by our characters. It will give us a platform to share some behind the scene stories and adventures.

Here is a list of some ideas we brainstormed:

Shorte's recipes from his G-Ma! Izarra's fashion tips. Raven's personal diary on her feelings about Gideon and the others. Avalann's Advise on Archery and Architecture. Gideons Guide to Being a Good Guardian Jar'z journel from Waterfront Aushades nightmare journal

There are so many possibilities! Make sure to checkout next month's new Blog!

Until next time!

Much love,

AnnMarie and Rachel

Today’s Spotlight: Summer Soundtracks

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Welcome to the new edition of the OTC Blog.

In 1937 Walt Disney released the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Do you know that was the first commercial movie to ever release a soundtrack?

Music in movies takes us to a whole different level of entertainment. Think about the feelings you get when your favorite song from a film comes on the radio. Personally, I sing along way to loud, dance like no one is watching and on occasion curl up with some popcorn and watch the film.

I thought it would be fun to list our top ten favorite soundtrack songs.

Rachel:

I Need a Hero- Shrek 2 Come and Get Your Love- Guardians of the Galaxy Eye of the Tiger- Rocky Danger Zone-Top Gun This is Me -Greatest Showman Rewrite the Stars- Greatest Showman The Chain-Guardians of the Galaxy 2 The Time of Your Life-Dirty Dancing Lose Yourself- 8 Mile My Heart Will Go On- Titanic

AnnMarie

Let's Go Crazy- Purple Rain A View to a Kill-A View to a Kill Power of Love- Back to the Future You're the One That I Want- Grease Shallow- A Star is Born Fame-Fame I Will Always Love You- The Bodyguard Don't You (Forget About Me)-Breakfast Club Stayin Alive- Saturday Night Fever Maniac-Flashdance

So, what songs make your list?

Until next time!

Much love,

AnnMarie and Rachel

Today’s Spotlight: TV Sitcom Shows

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Welcome to the new edition of the OTC Blog.

Since July 1st is National TV Heritage Day, I thought it would be fun to to talk about some of the most popular sitcoms. So slip into your PJs, cozy up on the couch and let's begin.

I Love Lucy (1951-1957)-This black-and-white sitcom was adapted for television from the popular radio comedy My Favorite Husband, which featured Lucille Ball opposite Richard Denning. The radio show was written by Jess Oppenheimer, Madelyn Pugh, and Bob Carroll Jr., who all went on to write for I Love Lucy. Schitt’s Creek (2015-2020)-Created by Dan and Eugene Levy, this sitcom is about an extremely wealthy family who lose all of their money due to fraud. The only asset left to them is a small, unsophisticated town named Schitt’s Creek. They relocate there. Culture shock ensues. Friends (1994-2004) -Created by David Crane and Martha Kauffman, there’s no more iconic sitcom than Friends. The show follows the personal and professional lives of six 20 to 30-year-old friends living in the Manhattan borough of New York City. Insecure (2016-2021)-Created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, based on Issa Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl, Insecure follows the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern-day African-American woman. The characters in this show are so real and the day-to-day issues they face seem relatable as though they’re a portrait of a generation of women coming of age in the late 2010s. The George Lopez Show (2002-2007)-Created by Bruce Helford, Robert Borden, and George Lopez, this show was groundbreaking simply by depicting a Latine middle-class family. The show had comedian George Lopez star as a Los Angeles manufacturing plant manager attempting to deal with his wacky family through random mishaps. Will & Grace (1998-2020)-Created by David Kohan and Max Mutchnichk, this show is about a gay lawyer Will and a straight interior designer Grace who share a New York City apartment. Will & Grace originally went off the air in 2006 only to get a reboot in 2017 that began as if the show had never ended. One Day at the Time (2017-2020)-This reboot of the 1975 sitcom with the same title follows three generations of the same Cuban-American family living in the same house: a newly divorced former military mother, her teenage daughter, her tween son, and her old-school mother. Seinfeld (1989-1998)-Created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, this show was once known as the show about nothing. Seinfeld leaned on misunderstandings for plot and portrayed life in New York City as a single young person without many responsibilities. The show is about the continuing misadventures of neurotic New York City stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his equally neurotic New York City friends. Seinfeld broke ground by having the famous bottle episode, “The Chinese Restaurant.” The episode also takes place in real-time as the gang waits for their table to be ready. The Simpsons (1989- )-Of course we had to include an animated show on our list of best sitcoms of all time! Created by James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, and Sam Simon, this show about the satiric adventures of a working-class family in the misfit city of Springfield started as animated sketches for, ,The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. It is the longest-running American animated series, the longest-running American sitcom, and the longest-running American scripted primetime television series, both in terms of seasons and number of episodes. The Simpsons have been around for so long, different generations have watched the show as it has evolved throughout the decades, and continues to be as current as ever tackling everyday issues each season. The Office | US Version (2005-2013)-This workplace comedy is a mockumentary about a group of typical office workers, where the workday consists of ego clashes, inappropriate behavior, and tedium. Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell will forever be remembered as the world’s worst boss and many people have commented that the show could never be made today given Michael Scott’s highly inappropriate behavior.

Today’s Spotlight: Vacation Bucket List

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Welcome to the new edition of the OTC Blog.

Its summer time! And we all know what that means... VACATION TIME. There are so many amazing places to see and things to do. So how do you pick? Rachel and I have been talking about buying a camper van for a few years now. We've been blessed and have traveled to many amazing locations but have so many more on our bucket list.

So we thought it would be fun to share with you our top 10 bucket list travel places. Some we have been to and would like to go back and others are still waiting in line for their turn.

Walt Disney World, FL- As many of you know I'm a Disney fan. Rachel and I had a chance last fall to take our family to experience it for the first time. We are huge Star Wars nerds, so our favorite place inside the most magical place on earth is Hollywood Studios. We spent an entire day just inside Star Wars Land -( Batuu). But if you are not a Star Wars geek like us, there are so many adventures waiting for you inside Disney's magic bubble. Virginia Beach, VA-( Actually are any beach vacations bad?)- Every year we are blessed to be able to stay at friends' home in Virginia Beach. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting on the back porch and staring out into the ocean. It's also a wonderful place to be creative and write. We also visit Lewes Beach in Delaware. The area is so quiet and full of the cutest shops. New York City, NY- Then I was younger this was my happy place. I would take day trips to see Broadway shows, shop on 5th Avenue, or just walk Time Square and people-watch. Rachel's first time in the city was rough. Our bus broke down on the way to the city. Thankfully things got better and we went to see her first Broadway musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang -( it was a cute show! ) Since Covid I haven't been back but hope this fall to spend my birthday seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Salem, MA - Several years ago, Rachel played on an all-girls football team. One of the games was just outside of Salem. So we took advantage of the opportunity and stayed a few extra days to take in the sites. I must admit that most of the area is very touristy but if you look deep you can find some amazing historical and haunted places to visit. This is a place I recommend everyone see at least once. Nashville, TN- I attend a conference in Nashville every year. This is truly Music City. On every corner of Broadway, you can hear up-and-coming artists performing from some of the world's most famous bars and clubs. Make sure to stop at the Legendary Tootie's for some whiskey! Las Vegas- A few years ago, Rachel and I were able to visit our son who lived there for a time. The best time to be on the strip is nighttime. The lights and sounds are mesmerizing. Make sure to eat at Hell's Kitchen and ride the High Roller Observation wheel at the LINQ. Fremont Street is where it gets crazy at night. If you're into people-watching, this is the place for you! They host an event every summer called Downtown Rocks Free Concert Series, where you can see national touring acts. San Francisco, CA- This was the first vacation that Rachel and I went on almost twenty years ago! The weather is nearly perfect all year round and has a little bit of everything. We toured Alcatraz, grabbed dinner at Pier 39, walked the Golden Gate Bridge, and took a thrilling ride down Lombard Street's eight hairpin curves. I had a chance to visit there again last year and it was just as beautiful and I remembered. New Orleans- This is still on our bucket list. This historic city calls to us with its jazz music and Creole food. I'm not sure I'm wild enough to visit during Mardi Gras, but I've been told it's one hell of a party. Hawaii-any island would be paradise-This has to be top of my bucket list. To be able to soak up the sun, snorkel, or jet ski on any of these gorgeous islands would be a dream come true. Maye one day? Home- Now don't laugh... sometimes staycations are the best! We are so blessed to live close to so many places. A day trip to Hershey Park, Gettysburg to tour the battlefield or antiquing in Amish Country. Or what about a quick overnight visit to Washington DC to tour the museums, Visit the Liberty Bell or see a concert in Philadelphia or attend a Steelers game in Pittsburgh?

So what destinations are on your bucket list? Are you drawn to the crowds of tourist locations like Disney World or would you prefer the beaches of Hawaii?

As always, thank you so much for following us and coming along on our adventures.

Much love,

AnnMarie and Rachel
