Anya Pavelle was born in Massachusetts but eventually settled in Florida, where she currently lives with her husband and dog. She's a trained art historian who sees the quiet beauty in nature, art, and literature. Anya has been imagining new worlds since she was six years old and like many morbidly curious people, she's obsessed with dystopian literature. The Moon Hunters is her first foray into science fiction. She's currently working on the sequel and also plans on writing a prequel. In addition to writing, Anya loves traveling the world, SCUBA diving, relaxing with her friends and family, and finally, curling up with a new book and a glass of wine on a moon-lit humid night. ...more

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I just saw this :) The book was originally called "The Children of Lehom," but my publisher said the title was a bit confusing. After some back and forth, we settled on The Moon Hunters. Leilani, the protagonist, feels drawn to a moon goddess named "Lady Moon" instead of the deities she grew up with. Leilani is on a quest for self and truth, so hunting for that, symbolized by the moon, is the significance of the title. (less)
Anya Pavelle Creating new imaginary worlds, which can be great portals of escape from reality.

This is an interesting read! I went in expecting Sopranos meets Fifty Shades of Grey, but I was pleasantly surprised that the novel had its own presence, so to speak. The author does know how to ratchet up the tension in a fun way!

What a creative short story! In this tale, the author allows her audience to understand the point of views of characters in a role-playing game—ones I've never considered in this context. Usually, I conceive of elves or orcs as entities driven solely ...more
