Let's start something new here, Wednesday Art, where I'll feature some captivating Fantasyscape.  I'll credit the artist when I can.

Part 2 Releases 9/23!

I had originally set the release date for Part 2 to be October, and then bumped it to 9/30, but I was able to draw it in to 9/23!  If Part 1 sets the tone, conflict and direction, Part 2 explores the characters and the word in more detail.  And we get some big fights!

Magic doesn't exist, until a mage falls in the streets of Ashmor. In his last moments, he gives Rowan Vos, a thief for hire, a sword that will alter his future, and threaten not only his own life, but the lives of everyone around him. Now, tasked by Thatcher Frost with destroying the blade while being stalked by mysterious assassins, Rowan finds himself in an unwinnable position, with nowhere to turn.

Eldrick D'Eldar joins Lord Baron and Griffon Alexander at Braewood Keep, in preparation for a siege, the conclusion of which has already been seen by Griffon's blood visions. The only question is, can he alter fate, or will Hell's Gate fall?

And Kren Redstorm, beneath the darkened sky of the new moon, awaits the council's decision. Is the Brae on their own, or will the Uhan'akk come to their aid?

“We go nowhere, except into the blaze, Eleksandr. When you burn the fox’s den, do you turn away so that he may escape? No, you press him in. And thus shall we... A scourge haunts these woods. He sours my mouth like spoiled wine. I mean to press him in, Eleksandr, and feed my axes the blood of a mage..." -Kren Redstorm

New Cover Art!

Went a new direction today with the art.  I'm really pleased with these new covers.  I think I'm going to stick with the art style for a while, and see if it impacts sales and traffic.  Let me know what you think!

B&I Part 2 Cover Art

Since Blood & Iron will be a continuing series, I'd like to stay with the same general cover format as Part 1.  Currently, I plan for each cover to feature a silhouette of an object or concept in the book.
Part 1 featured the Bramwar, an illusion we see early on in the Prologue:

My working cover for Part 2 is...

As you probably noticed in Part 1, ravens were mentioned more than a couple times.  I have some thoughts on where I want to take this, and one in particular, but we will see how it unfolds.  Regardless, I'm excited about sharing this with you in the near future!
Until then, check out the free chapters I've posted here, and pick up the rest of Part 1 on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XCTWXLH

Blood & Iron Update

Writing update:

I'm currently about 20,000 words into Blood & Iron (B&I), or about 10 chapters in.

While the first 4 chapters follow different perspectives, I have it narrowed down to 2.  There may be an occasional third, but he will be in the same location as one of our other perspectives.  That should reduce the amount of bouncing around that was necessary at the beginning to introduce characters and advance the plot.

My current plan is to release B&I as a serial, with part 1 likely coming in somewhere around 30,000 words.  A "typical" fantasy book is usually around 100,000 words, with many being much longer.  The serials will follow a larger arc.  Once I complete that arc, I will combine several serials and publish as a combined ebook.  If you're new to the series and pickup the combined ebook, you will save a couple bucks.  I may eventually decide to make the individual part 1 free , too.  At that point, creating a paperback starts to make sense, too.

Until then, I will continue to plug away, posting the occasional chapter, for your enjoyment.

I have set a target release data for part 1 at somewhere around the 8th of September.

Until then, please spread the word if you enjoy what you are reading here.  I certainly am creating this story for the love of writing, but selling books and getting feedback is absolutely an encouragement and helps me justify the time that I am taking away from my delightful and patient family.

B&I Map!

Serendipity!

I was fretting about a map, but not anymore!

All the credit goes to Reddit used u/LunarLandingZone.  They were kind enough to create this for the region where B&I Part 1 takes place.  Brushes were created by Joel Pigou (https://gumroad.com/joelpigou.
