Wordless Wednesday 290125 : A smile full of heart
I know it’s supposed to be wordless and I’m sure this picture is self-explanatory, but I need to talk about it. I had gone for my morning walk when I noticed the people in charge of cleaning the gardens busy at work. This lady looked up at me and smiled and I asked her if […]

Art: My first bird painting and a landscape painting
Last week, I managed to paint two pictures on my sketchpad. One was that of a landscape and was inspired by a painting I’d seen on Instagram. I don’t remember the artist. I’d saved it a long time ago and I decided to try painting it now. Here’s the second one I did. It’s of […]

Stream of Consciousness Saturday 27.01.25 & Thankful Thursday 23.01.25
The SoCs prompt for this Saturday is ‘in line’. Linda says you can use it in anyway you like. We went for a walk last evening. The weather was pleasantly cool. Perfect for a walk. The sun had set and the sky was painted a beautiful pinkish purple. Apparently, yesterday was the day when Jupiter, […]

Book Review 03/50 2025: Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors
This was the third book we picked up on Christmas Eve. Being one of two sisters, having two daughters and having a mom who was one of four, two boys and two girls, the ‘sisters’ relationship is something that’s always intrigued me. It’s bitter-sweet and volatile. My daughter said the author was famous. I opened […]

Book Review 2/50, 2025 : Too much fun to be legal by Barbara Leonhard and Nolcha Fox
This work of poetry is like the name suggests – fun. The book is a collaboration by two poets, Barbara Leonhard and Nolcha Fox. I picked this book sometime last year and began reading it then. The reason why I did not finish it in one go is because I enjoyed the poems I read […]

Book Review 1/50 2025 : Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
Norwegian Wood, published in 1987, is the book that catapulted Haruki Murakami as an author to watch out for. That's all I knew about the book when I picked it up. And I wondered what this author who'd lived all his life in Japan had to say about woods in Norway. Well, firstly, the book has nothing to do with Norway. It's titled after the Beatles song by the same name.

2025:Resolutions, Dreams, Goals
On the eve of New Year, my heart is filled with excitement and hope for 2025. Like me, you too, probably have had ups and downs in 2024. Like me, you too, achieved some goals and missed some. But here’s the thing: we mustn’t stop because if you do, what is there to look forward […]
