Into Lansimetsa

I’m about 10,000 words into a third book of The King Trials series. I hadn’t planned on writing a third book, but I’ve had enough readers who said they wanted to see the characters again and one of those readers sent me several pages of ideas. Thank you, to each of you! A new book will come out sometime next year.

If you’ve read the King’s Shadow, the three main characters in this third book are mentioned in the epilogue. I’m introducing the first of them below, but I’d love to hear your guesses ...

Birthday Book Kindle Countdown

I’m turning 40 this month. I had a friend quip that all women are 27. However, I wouldn’t trade a day of the experiences of the last 40 years. Here’s to many more years, trials, and joys (and many more stories).

In celebration I’m running a kindle countdown deal for two of my books March 3-5th.

Last time a prince and his blind friend were kidnapped. The captors planned to sell the prince to an enemy of the king and release the blind boy to die when they got deep enough into the forest. Read the first half here.

The next ten minutes filled with the clatter of packing, then we were yanked to our feet and placed closed behind two horses—our horses, still scented with the fresh hay of the royal stables. A taut rope stretched between my wrists and the warm creature in front of...

Blind Guide – Part I

Each month I will write an original short story (around 1000 words) based on a prompt from one of you.  Today’s story ended up being a bit longer, so you’ll get it over a couple months. The prompt is “Blind” by Mary Meyer. Thank you Mary!

Blind Guide

An Original Short Story a Month

Writers are a little crazy. We create stories, weaving together words into worlds and characters into friends (or enemies), from nothing more than imagination, research, and 26 characters (occasionally I’ve used cyrillic and kanji).

So it is with a combination of excitement and nervousness that I start writing a short story a month based on a prompt from one of you, my wonderful readers!
