Two Author Features in New Print Anthology on Pulp and Popular Fiction

I contributed two author profile features to this new book. One is on Robert Deane Pharr, a "black Sinclair Lewis," and the other is on Vern E. Smith and his 1974 street lit classic novel The Jones Men.

Two Short Fiction Chapbooks Listed on Amazon

I recently put together two short fiction chapbooks and listed them for sale as e-books on Amazon. Each chapbook includes four self-contained yet interconnected stories. Some of the situations/subjects that come up in the tales: geographical dislocation in childhood, sexual awakening, karma, teenage crime, adolescent love, a first experience with the death of someone a person cares about, complicated friendships that cross boundaries, the lasting effects of how parents relate to their children, mental illness and the impacts it can have on a family, recreational drug use, anxiety disorder, hearty laughs despite everything . . . and, throughout all of the stories, the music that accompanies pivotal moments in the characters' lives.

I plan to put together at least two more of these chapbooks, starting in early 2020.
