seven for strange gossip
Earned $ 1,000 at the end of the tour and used it to pay a deposit of a new elegant apartment underground and rent for the first month. I moved the same day.
I received an email from a person who worked at Warner Bros. Records. I wanted to take the band to California.
I was auditioned for the new Indie Rock Talent Search Initiative. I emailed the band I traveled with and asked if he wanted to go to California and become famous. They did. Signed many documents on cash advance, signature bonds, retail market penetration, limited distribution rights and other mixtures.
They said that as long as we did it in eight weeks, we could record a new album at a midrange studio in an American city other than Los Angeles or New York. On the other hand, they wanted to distribute our singles to all "real" radio stations and make them "interesting". We said: Yes, absolutely.

sixth of strange gossip
The show was sold out last night. We were all hooked and really stuck at everything. We were fools of musical instruments and somehow we were playing for 200 people. And this time everyone applauded. No one laughed.
I sold 5 CDs and had to talk to 20 different people about other bands they liked and what they had to do in the city. We drunk for free, strolled off the road, and returned home to a large junk van. I got drunk, got my head out of the window, fell behind, pulled out 40 of the brown bags and pretended to be what I was doing. Because I was doing it, whatever I was doing, I was doing it.

strange gossip the five
The penultimate night of the 10-city tour sold out.
Exhausted thanks to me and everyone laughed at the end of my set. Just playing a good song with just a guitar and a drum machine and a silly distortion pedal and a small amplifier sounded quite different from the version I heard on KEXP or the online streaming service, or they played me live Watching it They heard in their heads. It was a really hilarious laugh. I laughed too. No one could do it.
The band I was touring with a sound test before last night and I learned to play the songs together. They even sang vocal harmony during my chorus of a good song. We practice for an hour. Each song was played three times and the primetime was ready.

four strange gossip
The next morning, one of the punk club's booking agents emailed me if she would be interested in playing as a tour band opener. Then I asked if others were interested in playing with the local band going on the tour. Then my landlord emailed me an eviction notice. I responded to all three with warmth and compassion.
The band slept in a van during the day in exchange for driving at night. Earned maybe $ 100 overnight in the first seven shows. I spent money on Chinese food, new guitar strings and beer, and gas tanks.
Later, one of the streaming services sent an automated analysis report. 8,000 people have streamed my song. I did a Google search myself. KEXP played the song and 8,000 people streamed it. And the next day they played it again and I received another email alerting thousands of streams from the streaming service.
Emails are starting to increase. Some non-local stations have started playing songs, online content aggregators have begun recommendations, and streaming services have begun to put them into playlists. I felt like an avalanche. It was like shouting in the sky until the snow and ice fell at once. I was looking down at the wall where snow and ice crashed.

strange gossip third
After one show, a high school student came to the sales floor. I handed her a CD and asked a local radio station to play my song. And she laughed.
"I'll do it now," she said. "What are the numbers?"
I told her because I remembered it. She sent the text and laughed at the glowing phone. Rang
"Oh, I'm sick," she said, showing a conversation.
Do you have any strange gossip songs
Yup! coming soon! Thank you for listening!
"Yes," I said. Tell her to do it every other day for the next week, and then take her to the guest list of every show I've ever played. She grinned in a very nice-looking manner and maintained eye contact.
"Yes, bitch," she said.
I got off the car and clicked the radio. The station played my song. Track 5, single hit. Drums and everything. I heard the hook. I heard a guitar solo. To celebrate, probably wanted to be higher.
That night I dreamed of a high child at the show. In a dream, we gave each other a head, and before I could come, she stopped and went up to me raw, whispering that she had made a big mistake that she was a witch.

two strange gossip
I booked as many shows as possible in town. Played four or five first shit slots on the bill, mostly at punk clubs near campus on weekdays.
I rehearsed not only for my music, but also for my dissatisfaction. Hello, this is a strange gossip. Play music on a guitar and drum machine for 22 minutes. Both are connected to the same distortion pedal and amplifier. Applause then, and after I'm done: goodbye.
Then I opened the CD cardboard box on the folding table and smiled at the people, despite never buying a copy. When I got home, I emailed every band, promoter, sound person and bar owner. Thanks for the opportunity. Thank you for your support. Thanks for supporting local music. I want to play thanks again. Then I started calling local radio stations and asking them to play my music. I look forward to living somewhere with a good radio station every time I pretend to be a college freshman. When a drunk cousin turns out to be playing music, I try to confuse me at a party. The DJs all said they had never heard of me. Then I pretend to be surprised, ignorant, and often frequent.

strange gossip begin
I recorded the whole album in a naughty basement. Each song was about my pet who died at some point in my life. The first song, I can relate to the dog of the deceased family at the time of the 4-year-old, the last song, to find my fish of the corpse at the bottom of the fish tank, one of the cleaning snail, but what about that suck out the eyeball was.
Since my landlord owned most of the blocks, instead of paying the rent, I spent all the money on the album. I spent $ 758 to mix and master the album professionally. I spent $ 100 to register my music with the American Association of Composers, Writers and Publishers (ASCAP). These two steps are what you need to get on the radio, which is a quality control and legal matter. Spent $ 40 to put the album on all streaming services. I spent $ 400 on printing a $ 200 CD. For the cover, I used a picture of a drum machine in the corner of a vulgar basement. It was free. I spent $ 47 and mailed a copy of the CD to a radio station that included famous places such as KEXP and KCRW. It was inexpensive, and I felt like I would reapply to college without asking my parents every day whether they enrolled in a particular school or not. We printed officially visible notes about how the fifth song was a lead single for inclusion on each CD. The fifth song was about my cat who died of a cerebral aneurysm, the only song recorded with a real drum kit, and the only good song.
