Three reasons why taking absolute responsibility is important

For the last few days, I was asking my kids Do you want to live the new year as you lived this year or Do you want to do something new in the coming year? Something exciting. They were trying to avoid me so that I dont ask the same question again. Kids are kids they dont understand the depth and meaning of it.

Today morning on first of January, when my kids got up in the morning I asked the same question Do you want to live this year same as you lived last year or do you want to do something...

Here’s what no one tells you about Power Of Imagination.

It’s Saturday night. 11 PM to be precise and I’m about to go to sleep. Here comes my wife and said “Your son is all the time on the computer. He is not focused on his studies.”

I pretended to sleep. Are you listening? I said I heard you? I decided not to react immediately.

Sunday morning at 11 AM. Called my son. I’m thinking of what to say. Being a coach, I took a different approach. I closed my eyes, and without filtering uttered the most powerful words, I have ever spoken in my life.

Me: Son, do you know the difference between a human being and an animal?

He looked at me and asked what kind of question is this?
He was about to run. Being a father, I used my veto power. I said Wait.

Son. We study. They Don’t.

Me. No, it’s wrong my boy. Okay, imagine we are still living in the jungle. We haven’t invented education. We had something that’s why we are out, and they are still there.

He is thinking.

Me. I will give you a hint. Imagine.

He is again thinking.

Son: Yes, Dad, we can imagine.

Me: You are close. But what we do with our imagination.

Son: Dad, we can imagine the future.

Me: Bang On

Now it was my turn to think and imagine. I realised oh my god. This is it. That’s the only difference. I started thinking. Animals are born. We are born, Animals eat, we eat, Animals die, Yes, we also die one day.

So What makes us humans different than animals?

We have the power of imagination. We can imagine and create the future we want. That’s why we are on the top.Whatever we have created we have created with our imagination? Look at everything closely. We created fantastic products on earth because we have the power of imagination. We have reached the moon and planning to go to mars because we have the power of imagination. We are building electric cars and trying to save the earth because we have the power of imagination.

Everyone has the power of imagination. Unfortunately, most of the people don’t use this power because their focus is somewhere else.
People are struggling because they are not focused on important things.
People are worried because they are not focused on important things.

Someone said” Most goals are not out of reach. They are out of Focus”

Yes, If we use the Power of Imagination and Focus on important things everything is possible.

What is your excuse?

Most of the people don’t like what
they do. According to Gallup Survey, 87
percentage people worldwide don’t want their Job.

Whenever I meet someone in my seminar, who says that “I have the talent, but I don’t get what I deserve” I ask them this question. “Do you truly love what you are doing currently?”. People start looking at the ceiling thinking what kind of question that is. They believe that its normal to do a work which you don’t like. Really.??

Yes. It’s important that we must do what we love doing. Without which we will not get fulfilment and real success.

However, the problem is people keep telling themselves the Excuses.

1. Excuse no 1- “I have a settled and well-paying job. If I quit how will I survive.”

2. Excuse no 2 – “What will I do if I quit. I don’t have any other talent and skill.”

3. Excuse no 3- “What if I fail. People will laugh at me.”

There are hundreds of excuses people have.

Everyone knows (I can bet on this) what they should do which makes them happy.

You need to do two things.

1. Take that First Step- Whatever small it may be but take that first step towards your goal. Today not tomorrow.

2. Plan- When you have a written plan. You feel assured that this is achievable.

Robin Sharma said it so well ” Greatness begins beyond your Comfort Zone.”

I Believe, Great people who have achieved something in life. It’s because they challenged themselves to go beyond their limits not by playing safe. So, get out of your comfort zone.

Are you making these information overload mistakes?

Hope you’re awesome Today.

In today’s time, social media, newspaper, and
television connect us to the world  24X7. We are exposed to the
information never before in the history of humanity — the minute it happens in
any part of the world this information bombards us.

In a way this information is useful, but it has huge
repercussions on our mind. I call this phenomenon INFORMATION OVERLOAD. It
may seem that more news is useful, but it creates more harm than good on an
individual’s perception and how it shapes our behaviour.

What happens when we are exposed to huge
information which we are not actively seeking?

The answer is the absence of curiosity. We learn
best when we are curious when we are
hungry and likely to implement that information in our life.

These
things happen to us.

1) We
create Beliefs- Based on the information; we
develop beliefs
about the world and people.

2) We
Live- Based on the ideas we Live our
life.

Would like to share my experience of how my
decision to discard information changed my life. A few years ago I was like
most of the people. Getting up in the morning and having a cup of tea while
reading the newspaper and expose me to the information which was of no use
to me.

One day I decided to stop reading the
newspaper and started going to the gym. Trust me it was not an easy
decision especially when your habit which took years to form. However, I
committed to myself that no matter what I will go every day. I injured
myself within the first week, but I was not in the mood to give up.

I was curious and wanted to learn, I read a
lot of books and articles and understood the right techniques. After a few
weeks, my body started to respond. I began to have the energy which I had never
experienced before (probably when I was young). After this, I started focusing
on things which I used to avoid earlier because of lack of energy and
enthusiasm.

With this extra time in my hand, I joined a
public speaking club which I wanted to join
for a long time. This decision changed my life.

Not sure what you should do first thing in the
morning but I’m sharing my experience

1. Connect to yourself first- I Sit alone
and write journal first thing in the morning, and it helps me to connect
to myself at a more in-depth level. It helps
me search deep inside my heart. Listen to it and understand what it says. This
simple habit will change your life.

2. Use Imagination- When you come across new
information, use your imagination and ask yourself “how can this information
change my life”.

3. Experiment- Experiment, what works and what
doesn’t work. There is no magic formula.

When this kind of small changes keeps happening,
one day you find that your life is transformed.
That’s what happened to me. Because of this experimentation, I have figured it
out the Focus Formula which I teach in my workshops.

Discard information which doesn’t help you in becoming a
better person and Start focusing on information
which is essential and enables you to grow in life.

Look at your life right now and think for a moment what you need to focus on. Something you must change to change your life. What is that ONE thing?

Three reasons why taking absolute responsibility is important

For the last few days, I was asking my kids” Do you want to live the new year as you lived this year or Do you want to do something new in the coming year? Something exciting. They were trying to avoid me so that I don’t ask the same question again. Kids are kids they don’t understand the depth and meaning of it.

Today morning on first of January, when my kids got up in the morning I asked the same question “Do you want to live this year same as you lived last year or do you want to do something to become a better human being.”

I’m having the conversation
with my elder son Aarav aged 12 who is in class 7.

Aarav: Dad I want to learn new skills to become a better animator.

Me: That’s what most of the people think that by learning
new skills they will become a better human being. That’s a wrong way to look at
it.

Aarav: That’s what my friends are doing.

Me: I’m not interested in what your friends are doing. I want to know what do you feel. Something you feel that must be changed to become better person this year. Let me give you a hint. It might be something you are scared to do, something you have been tolerating or it could be something that your heart says “if I do this, my life will be great”

Aarav: *Silent*

Me: Imagine. You know all the answers, my son.

Aarav: No idea

Me: Ok. Let’s take the example
of a superhero. Who is your favourite superhero.

Aarav: Spiderman

Me: Tell me the greatest
quality of Spiderman.

Aarav: He never gives
up.

Me: That’s right. Never give up means, once he decides, he
takes 100 per
cent responsibility for his decisions. He
could change his destiny and that of other people by completely owning his decisions.

This is what happens when we take absolute responsibility for our life.

Three Reasons

We find a way to do what we want to do. Never blame others — neither
god nor fate.We become powerful by accepting the responsibilities of our decisions whether right or wrong.By taking 100 per
cent responsibility we accept our failures, we look deep into the
problem and learn from them and grow as a better human being.

Everyone has goals, and
we all want to achieve goals, but we don’t take 100 responsibility for them. Learning new skills to achieve a goal is a bad idea. First, we must
grow as a person to achieve that goal. We
must make ourself deserving of that goal.

Would like to know “Do you want to live this year same as
you lived last year or do you want to do something to become a better human
being.”

How do you feel when you get up in the morning?

Many of you have heard me talking about this earlier, how my life changed when I saw a survey result. How do you feel when you get up in the morning?

Many of you have heard me talking about this earlier, how my life changed when I saw a survey result. I m talking about Gallup survey that was conducted in 142 countries and whatthey found was that 87 per cent of the employees are “disengaged” from theirjobs. Means people don’t like their jobs. It means they don’t like their jobs; they wantto do something else.

To understand the ground reality, I interviewed people who
are working with companies and asked them questions to know what they want from their life.

There was this one guy 22 years old named Rahul, who was
working with an MNC IT company.

This is how the
conversation goes.

Yogesh: “What’s your dream.”

Rahul: “My dream is to become a musician. But, Its just a hobby now” (see the language
“hobby”)

Yogesh: “How do you feel when you get up in the morning? Do
you look forward to the day or you think it’s just another day”?

Rahul: “Just normal. Nothing great.”

Yogesh: “Do you have plans to do what you want to do.”

Rahul: “No”

Yogesh: “OK. Tell me one thing. Imagine your life 50 years
later, and you are a grandfather.  You have your grandchildren coming to you and
asking you about your life story, what
stories you would tell them.”

Rahul: “I will tell them DO WHAT YOU LOVE DOING.”

Yogesh: “No. I am asking you to tell them your real-life
stories. Not Gyan. What would you tell them? Would you tell them “that I gave
up when I was 22 years old”? or would you
tell them that despite challenges I chased my dreams.”

Rahul: *Silent*

This guy was honest at least he didn’t speak a lie. Most of the people don’t speak the truth.

This is how most of
the people live their life.

They give up too early and live a mediocre life. They do something their whole life they don’t
like. They don’t accept the responsibility for their life; they blame the whole world.

What we must do instead.

Do what you love doing.

Keep trying. Don’t give up.

Life is not a straight line; it has many curves in it — ups and Downs. You will face failures and setbacks.

eventually, you will reach where you want to reach.

Be Limitless.

how to find the right direction in life and stay focused?

how to find the right direction in life and stay focused?

Once, there was a man who was about to die. He was on his deathbed living last few days of his life.

One of his friends come to meet him. He said “if you get a chance to re-live your life what is that you would do with your life differently,” The old man thought for a moment and said “when I was young, I had many dreams. Dreams which could have impacted people. However, I did not take action because of fear, and I was busy doing things which today I feel were a waste of time. If I get a chance, Which I know I won’t. I will do something which is close to my heart.”

Friends, this is the story of many of us. I was also in a similar situation a few years ago. I was working with an MNC, and I was paid well, my life was settled but I was not happy inside. I struggled with it and finally decided to focus on what is close to my heart.

Today, I will talk about how to find the right direction in life and stay focused. I will share three steps how I changed my life.

So why it’s important to focus in the right direction and set the right goals.

1) Unfulfilled life- Deep inside(unconsciously) everyone knows what he or she should do with their life. However, they don’t do it because of fear or many other excuses. Because of this, they live an unfulfilled life.

2)Struggle in life- What is close to your heart is where your true potential lies. If you are doing something other, then that, life will be a struggle.

So, what are the three steps?

Check your feelings-your feelings tells you that you need to change something. Look at your feelings. Ask yourself Is there something that needs to change?
Discover what do you want- Most of the people think about money when they think about the goal. I would suggest discard money at this point. Instead, Listen to your heart. Whatever you feel close to your heart do that. There must be something you care about. Something you are passionate about. Do that.
Write your goals- Most of the people don’t write their goals. Take out a pen and paper and write. Set your 90 Days, three years and ten years goals. Think big but start small.

Remember- Where you put your focus on. That thing grows. Focus on things that is close to your heart and set goals accordingly.

Einstein said- Everybody is a Genius. But, If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid.

Be Limitless
