2.5 Years Later…

In looking back at the previous posts, I can’t believe that it’s been 2 1/2 years since I had the Developmental Editing done on the book. The original book was sent to the editor as 87,000 words. After reviewing the suggestions and doing some serious consideration of what the story needed, I wound up deleting most of the first chapters and starting over.

Sherri’s heart was racing, her breathing was heavy and erratic, her mouth bone-dry. She looked at the clock display on the ceiling: 3:45 AM. She sat up in her bed, spun around and landed her feet flat on the floor. The thick carpet comforted her, helping her to calm herself. Short Story Submitted

I submitted my Time Travel short story, called “Short Time Sherri,” Thursday night. I won’t hear back about the judging for several weeks. I’ll be looking for more opportunities to submit short stories, as I feel I learn new things with every work.

Entering Writing Contest

Found this writing contest a few weeks ago while surfing the net. Took a while to come up with an idea, but one finally popped into my head! I sat down and wrote the story the following night. Think I’m going to wait until closer to the end date to submit, lest my story be forgotten when read too early in the game.

Finalized the changes after developmental editing. After a few Beta reads, I’ll be moving to line editing as the final step before publishing!
