Let Your Flame Burn Bright

As I sit down to write this, I think to myself, “What are you thinking. You don’t know how to blog. You’re a new writer. What do you have to share?” My gut fills with the fear and I feel sick inside.

Then, the thought hits me, what would I tell my children to do in this situation?

Feel the fear but do it anyway.

So, big breath. Here I go.

Like many writers, my writing has always been my hidden dream. My greatest wish and my biggest fear. If my life is a candle and the flame is my dr...

Haunted By Amethyst

Orphaned at eight, JD learned that to survive you never tell anyone about the Woman haunting you, always keep your boots on and knife ready. Adopted by a military family dominated by males, she was taught honor, loyalty and every four-letter word in the book.

As a top notch Private Investigator her specialty is finding lost children, with the unwanted help of the Woman. Then, she finds her first clue to her past and perhaps a way to be rid of the Woman but she must partner with a rud...

Mystery of the Three Gems Cover Reveal

Good morning my fabulous readers!

I just received the cover of Visions of Emerald back from my graphic designer and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!

First, I need to share with you the journey of this book. It went from being called Drowning with Emerald to Visions of Emerald. The first book cover just wasn’t quite what I was looking for, so I had to shop around for another cover designer. I found Fiona. She’s a real artist. I sent her the premise for the book and she sent me b...

New JD Series in the Plotting Stage

Can you believe it? I’m already in the plotting stage of the new JD series. After LOTS of research, I plotted out four books. But as story lines grew for the secondary characters and funny situations to stick JD in occurred to me, the series exploded to seven, (yes seven) books! I’m having to bite my lip to not spill the beans on the titles. I love them!

I’ve posted a picture of my plotting board. I had to fuzz out the stickies. Can’t have the whole series spoiled for you by giving...

New Series

I was gobsmacked when my editor suggested that I write a whole series of books on JD Wolfe, the female leading character from Haunted by Amethyst. It never occurred to me to give JD her own series. The drawback? Well, two occurred to me right away. One: I’ve never written a Whodunit novel or “real” detective mystery. Two: JD’s specialty as a private investigator is finding and saving children. One thing I can’t stand is having a child hurt. How could I overcome these obstacles and w...

My Little Girl Is Heading Home

I’m excited to say that my little girl is heading home from Iraq. Lacey has finished her first deployment and is returning safe and sound. We couldn’t be more grateful.

We will be there to meet her when she steps off the plane. Or as close as we can to it. Her fiancé is meeting us and we will be charging ahead to plan her wedding in September. Never boring in a military family. But we are used to rolling with the needs of the Country and planning around life’s ups and downs.

I know...

On New Year’s Eve, 1928 a great fire spread through Twin Springs Hotel and stole General Rockwell’s greatest treasures. His three daughters; Emerald, Ruby and Amethyst. The newspapers claimed their deaths were a tragic accident. The real story has remained a secret for nearly 100 years . . .
