Born in Manchester, Tennessee. Raised in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Read mostly fantasy and science fiction while growing up. Graduated Tullahoma High School in 1980. Graduated U.S. Naval Academy in 1984. Served on USS Nimitz and USS Arkansas. Decided to go to law school. Graduated Vanderbilt Law School in 1994. Married in 2003. We have two kids, Sydney and Luke. We live in Gallatin, Tennessee. I work at Wyatt Tarrant & Combs, a law firm in Nashville.

Started writing The Laws of Time in April 2013. Finished manuscript in the summer of 2016.
