Publication Alert: 72 Hours of Insanity V9

Here’s another Writers’ Games anthology. I managed to nab third place this portion and have two very different stories in the book. You can find me under the pseudonym “CE Snow.”

The first–“She Waited”–is a folklore style tale filled with lost love and forgotten memories. The second–“A Crime Lord’s Dream Team”–is a cyberpunk origin story. So if you prefer fairies and magic or hackers and biotech, there’s something for you!

Publication Alert!

I had never considered collaborative writing before some folks in my writing group asked me to join a Team Writing competition. What a strange, exciting, terrifying, fun challenge. To be thrown together with a handful of people from an online writing group, who you barely know, who all have very different writing styles and backgrounds, and then be expected to create cohesive stories based on an arbitrary prompt and on a deadline to boot… Well, how-de! How do you even make that happen?

And yet, we did the thing. And in doing it, we transcended from internet acquaintances, to co-collaborators, to friends. It wasn’t easy. We argued a little bit. But in the end we made art together.

And now YOU can read it. This extraordinarily unique anthology features many delightful stories written by a variety of Scribes Divided Teams. Genre, voice, and style vary bringing something for everyone to the table. In addition, many of the contributing authors (self included) speak candidly on the process. Please check it out: Writing Alone and Other Group Activities: Scribes Divided Anthology, Vol. 3: Team Writing.

Howdy readers! The Writer’s Workout has released another great fiction anthology featuring the top event winners from their annual Writer’s Games. In it you’ll find two stories by yours truly. (listed under the pseudonym CE Snow)

The first is a bit of a dark psychological tale called “The Left Hand Twin.” The second–“What You’re Left With”–is a rather painful journey on what it’s like to be a woman in today’s society.

The book is currently available for Kindle here, with a paperback release forthcoming. Happy reading!

TL;DR Press 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction Competition

Was very pleased to find out today that I made the top 20 list in the TL;DR Press 1,000 Word Herd Flash Fiction Competition!

It was a very fun story to write, definitely outside my norm.  Look for an announcement sometime in June for how to purchase the anthology with all the winning stories in it, including my piece “The Earth Provides.” All proceeds from the sale of the eBook will go to First Story, an English non-profit organisation that encourages young people to write creatively for pleasure and agency. Their creative writing programs equip young people with the confidence and skills to thrive in life and education. Consider supporting this excellent cause!
