The It Girl by Ruth Ware – Book Review

Hello lovelies!
We’re back with another book review! I am quite enjoying reviewing books lately, it’s giving me something to blog about other than my normal everyday life which is really nice because let’s be honest, sometimes it’s just nice to think about something different. I love my life, don’t get me wrong, but trying to come up with blog topics that will be actually interesting to people and not turn into just regular online diary entries can be tough. I’m attempting to move away fr...

The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan – Book Review

**Spoilers, proceed at your own risk**
The woman who calls herself Rebecca will henceforth refuse the urge to obtain the audiobook versions of these books because LIGHT these books are thick with exposition, hundreds of characters (old and new), allegories, aphorisms and packed with action.
One thing I love about audiobooks is the ability to listen whilst doing other things, however, as previously stated, these books are so substantially large that I’ve decided they do not make for great ...

My top reads of 2022
Hello lovelies!
In 2022 I managed to read a total of 50 books, which is a new record for me. I’ve been tracking my reading in Goodreads just for fun, if you would like to follow me on there, click here! I also have my own books on there.
I was reflecting on the books I read last year and decided maybe I would pick my top favorites and give you a little (spoiler free) mini review of each one. I would love to start doing book reviews regularly on my blog, so this may be a good place to start...

What is a Doula? and why I want to be one
Hello lovelies,
I was going to start this post with the answer to the question “why do I want to be a doula?”, however, that became a VERY long explanation and I feel I should first address what a doula actually is, before I dive into all that other stuff.
So, what is a Doula?
A doula is essentially a trained support person, there are birth doulas, postpartum doulas and even death doulas.
I’ll be talking mainly about birth doulas for this post.
A birth doula helps support the la...

Reflecting on 2022 & Entering 2023
Hello lovelies!
Seeing that we are already about a week into 2023, I have been reflecting on last year a bit, thinking of the things I learned, the things I’d like to change and all the blessings that came as well, because there were quite a few. I’ve been trying to center myself so that I can enter 2023 in a grounded way.
I haven’t been a huge fan of New Years Resolutions for awhile now. I usually set myself goals, the last couple years I chose a word to contemplate and work towards. Las...

Sebastian’s Birth Story – With Pictures!
Hello lovelies! here is Sebastian’s Birth Story for those interested.

For the whole pregnancy we had planned a home birth and had been meeting with a Homebirth midwife who is just wonderful. Throughout my pregnancy I had been dealing with heart palpitations and after going back and forth on whether I should go in for another heart check I finally decided to go for a check just to make sure things were okay.
For back story, I was diagnosed with a bicuspid heart valve as a child, had vis...

Update – new baby!?
It’s been a minute – or, well, year almost.
A lot has changed since I wrote on here last, we got another dog, we decided to have another baby, we moved, our dogs decided to have TWELVE puppies (!!!!), our cat decided to have four kittens as well (ALL the pets are getting fixed now) and plenty more, but those are the highlights.
I had my third son (yes, all three of our kiddos are boys) on September 26th 2022, just over two years after our middle child was born, now we ha...

New Year, New Prayer Life
Hello lovelies,
It’s 2022! A brand new year full of wonderful, endless possibilities and I hope that you and your loved ones have had a good year so far and continue to do so.
I realize we’re already well into January now so it feels a little late for all the “new years resolution” talk, but here I am because I didn’t have a chance to sit down and write this sooner.
I’ve never really been huge into New Years Resolutions. I’ve tried here and there, but it has almost always seemed to fai...

Christmas Traditions
Hello lovelies!
It’s Christmas Eve!! I’m busy cooking and getting everything ready, but I wanted to hop on here quickly and talk about Christmas Traditions.
One of my favorite memories from Christmases when I was a kid was doing advent, my Mom had made a really cool wallhanging with flaps that lifted up and had a scripture verse written inside, every night we would all gather around and we’d read those verses from the Bible and gradually heard the Christmas Story. That’s something we have...
