New HellBound Anthology
I'll be featured in the upcoming title, "Anthology of Horror" from my friends at @HellBoundBooks. My story is called "Summer of '74" and it's set in Seattle, You can probably guess the subject matter from those clues!!
HellBound has been really great to me. This will be my fourth story included in a HellBound anthoogy (of those edited by someone else.)
They've also published my labor of love, "Jane Nightshade's Serial Encounters," an anthology edited by me, which includes two of my own stories and sixteen from many great indie horror writers.
You can find all of my HellBound anthology listings on my book page. Check them out!!

Two New Halloween Anthos
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to point out that I've got stories in two new Halloween anthologies that have just been published.
They are:
Behind the Shadows II, edited by Sara Heintz-Jordan (I follow her here) and published by Inkd Publishing. My story is called "Snailsy" and is about a bullied middle-schooler with an unusual affection for snails.
Doors to Darkness II, edited by Caleb Pecue (whom I also follow), and published by Terrorcore. My story is called "The Sorting" and it's one of my very favorite ghost stories ever. It was previously published in last year's Hush! Don't Wake the Monster, edited by Azzurra Nox.

5/5 Review!!
The important horror site, Horror Tree, has given Jane Nightshade's Serial Encounters a 5/5 review!! That's fantastic!!
https://horrortree.com/epeolatry-book...
"This book will have you running the gambit of reactions as you read. There’s humor, shock, disgust, and horror. While these tales are fictionalized, it remained in the back of my mind that these were real people who did real evil.
Looking for a delightful anthology for your summer vacation? Are you a fan of, or know little about some of the most famous serial killers? If so, then I highly recommend Serial Encounters edited by Jane Nightshade." -- Joseph Pietris, Horror Tree review.

Dead of Winter
As always, the Goodreads software makes it hard to add a book to your author page. But, I have a new story out in this anthology, Dead of Winter: 13 Tales of Winter Terror.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
My story is a kind of hybrid sci-fi/horror tale that involves guns and AI. It's called "Run Through the Jungle."

Yay They're Here
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
My short story, Lupus, dropped today in this sci-fin anthology from Dead Fish Books publishing house. I'm excited about it because this is the first sci-fi story I've ever published.
To be fair, it's more of a psychological horror story than a sci-fi story, but it's still about alien contact which is the theme of the anthology.
If you read it, drop me a comment here! I'd love to hear what you thought about it!!

Hush, Don't Wake the Monster
Goodreads's interface won't let me add the book "Hush, Don't Wake the Monster," to my bookology, but I swear I have a story in it! It's called "The Sorting" and it's one of my favorites. Inspired by early (70s-80s) King. Check it out on the page of the editor, Azzura Nox.

Serial Encounters
SUBMISSION CALL: I'm excited to be editing/curating my first anthology for Hellbound Books, Jane Nightshade's Serial Encounters. Here are the deetz for anyone interested in submitting.
JANE NIGHTSHADE'S SERIAL ENCOUNTERS
Have you ever wondered about the ordinary people who came in contact with famous serial killers before everyone knew them for their depraved, murderous acts?
What did Jeffrey Dahmer's plumber experience when he unclogged the notorious cannibal's toilet? Or how about the guy who worked in the music shop where Charles Manson had his guitars strung? The girl who waited on Ted Bundy at his favorite coffee shop? Jack the Ripper's neighborhood bartender? How about one of the kids who had John Wayne Gacey perform as a clown at their birthday party?
For this anthology, we're looking for short stories about casual encounters of fictional people with serial killers, that turned creepy or deadly. Stories can be straight crime/thriller stories or ones with a supernatural bent (haunted objects, ghosts, demons, etc.).
Characters and victims, aside from the serial killers, must be fictional—real names of victims or family members can not be used. Also, feel free to use lesser-known killers like Richard Speck or The Boston Strangler, in case the Bundy and Manson stories start piling up like the bodies of their victims...
Note: Stories should not lionize or celebrate the serial killers, or promote racism, bigotry, or depictions of violence against children.
PLEASE read and adhere to our submission guidelines...
* Word format saved in .doc, or .docx
* 12 pt times new roman
* Double spaced
* Absolutely NO extra lines between paragraphs!
* Up to 5k word count (although we are incredibly flexible for awesome stories!)
* Write SERIAL KILLERS along with your name and story title in the header of your email
*The body of your submission email will be considered the cover letter.
