BBC The Vikings

Since I have been travelling abroad for the last few weeks I have only seen the first programme in the BBC The Vikings series. It was a most impressive introduction to the Viking Age, so ably presented by Neil Oliver. If there was one thing I would like to have seen more of it would have been the design and construction of the Viking ships and the techniques used to navigate them. Perhaps there will be more on this subject in the episodes I have yet to see.

I am really looking forward to seeing episode two about Vikings travelling to the east. I have been researching this for the last year in connection with my next book, “Three Kings, One throne”.
