Ed is a legally blind disabled veteran. He was raised in the Lowcountry of South Carolina but lived many places around the U.S., both as a military dependent and as an active duty member of the Air Force. After leaving the military at age 29, he returned to school, eventually earning a Masters of Divinity degree.
Ed spent twelve years as a VA Chaplain (2003-2015), specializing in palliative care and mental health. One of his greatest accomplishments was, during the last eight years, co-developing and conducting marriage enrichment retreats for veterans that would eventually become a national VA program.
