New Books and 2022 Christmas Deals Coming Your Way Soon!

Silk Webs, book 3 of the Incidental Inquisitors, is coming out on December 23rd and when it is released Last Gasp, book 1 of the same series, is going to be priced at 99 cents. Dust Song is Out Now, Book 3 of the Dwarvish Dirty Dozen Series!

Dear Reader,

Phew!

Sometimes I feel a bit like our little friend here (by the very talented Even Amundsen), hammering away at making something, day after day. I wipe the sweat, sometimes literally, off my brow and set my work aside to catch a meal with my lovely wife or wrangle my offspring, you know life stuff. But then sure enough those brief respites are done and then it’s back work, hammering away. As you are doing this work you’re never sure if what you are making is going to turn out, if all the pieces are going to fit or not. You know you have some skill, some vision, but so did the fellas who built that one really big boat (Titani-something or other) and look how that turned out.

Never do I feel that more than when I finish a trilogy, and now perhaps most strongly I feel it knowing that a trilogy only marks the halfway point.

You see Dust Song, Book 03 of the Dwarvish Dirty Dozen, is being released today, September 27th 2022, and I’ve poured a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the series. I hope that it’s my best series to date, but more than that it’s part of a much more ambitious project. I’m not just referring to the six book series, that will comprise the entire Dwarvish Dirty Dozen series, but also my plans with Mr. Anderle to continue to explore and expand the Skharr Universe. So far we’ve been trying to take our efforts in different cardinal directions. For my part the Outcast Royal series introduced the East of the world, while the Dwarvish Dirty Dozen covers the North-East, while Mike’s efforts with Skharr, Cassandra, and the Myth of the Dragon series cover the West, North-West, and South-West respectively. Little by little we’re building a bigger and bigger world of sword and sorcery, and I’m excited to be part of it but let me tell you it’s a lot of work!

Still, I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I am perpetually humbled by all those who choose to keep coming back for more of my tales, stoking the fires of my forge with words of encouragement (especially those lovely reviews) and of course their hard earned money and time. Thank you to all my Dear Readers out there. I appreciate each one of you, and I hope to continue to work my craft on your behalf for many years to come.

And with that I’ve let the old hammer rest too long, and I’ve got to get back to it. So much to create, and never enough hours in the day.

Announcing my Incidental Inquisitor Series; Book 1 is up for Pre-Order!

Greetings Dear Reader,

As I mentioned last time, I’ve been very busy trying to get a new project off the ground while still making time for the very baddest of Badgers, and I intend to see your patience has been rewarded.

So here we are:

Last Gasp, book 01 of the Incidental Inquisitors series is up for pre-order here on Amazon!

Set in the city of Quadras, the last bastion of the inhuman peoples in a human dominated, and devastated, world, this series follows the adventures, mishaps, and hijinks of odd couple, police partners Doughas and Vor who are part of the newly minted Inquisitor’s Bureau. Tasked with keeping the peace between fantastic and fractious peoples of Quadras, the elf and dwarf have their work cut out for them and that’s not even considering a stubborn dwarf and some high falutin’ elf needing to have each other’s backs.

Being as much Murtaugh and Riggs as they are Legolas and Gimli I’m hoping these two characters will provide an excellent point to leap into the city of Quadras and the world it exists within. Inspirations from dungeonpunk and fantastic noir with some splashes of comedy and loads of action drive this series, but it is just the beginning of the world I’ve got planned for all of you to enjoy. Quadras, after all, is just one city, massive though it may be, nestled in the Valley, beyond which lies the sinister and sorcerous world of mankind.

Honestly Dear Reader there’s so much in Quadras and even more beyond it, so much I want to show you, that I can barely keep from spilling the beans!

But it’s all going to start here with two Inquisitors, cops trying to survive the mean streets of Quadras which seems ready to strangle itself. Conspiracies, gangs, greedy opportunists, and rogues even more nefarious than all the above are looking to see them fail. Only a quick eye, a strong hand, and good partner is going to keep you alive in Quadras, and both of our Inquisitors are going to have to learn to believe in the last one if they are going to keep the first two attached. It’s up to them to keep the peace and make sure Quadras doesn’t take its Last Gasp.
