Thanks to everyone who participated in my Goodreads Giveaway

A warm thank you to everyone who participated in my Goodreads Giveaway of the Kindle edition of Endured by The Gods. Over 600 people have shelved the book as a want-to-read. I am hoping that many will either precede or follow it by reading the first book in the dystopian series,"Silent Consent.

I wish I could turn it into an audiobook, but I don't have the money to finance the transition at this time. However, the books are text-to-voice ready, and I found that Alexa does a pretty good job of reading them. However, if you go this route, Alexa insists on reading "St." as "street" rather than as "Saint" and habitually turns "Gen" into "General" rather than leaving it alone (despite not being followed by a period. (It should read "Gen," the slang for "Geneol" used in the founder states.)

The Endured By The Gods GIveaway is about half-way through its run.

I am thrilled with the positive reception of my latest writing venture, Endured By The Gods. There are 100 Kindle copies being given away, one hundred copies that someone has to win. The contest ends on Feb 6, so please, if you enjoyed Silent Consent, I hope you will take this chance to read the sequel with a free book!
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

This story runs parallel to the events of Silent Consent, unfolding in the early days of the Energy Crimes Unit. Where the first book focuses on Central and Homeland 7, this one takes place in District 5 and a Centurion camp along the Western border and follows a young woman who suffers because of a familial demotion that relates her to the status of the Nameless. It delves deeper into the lives of the public No-names in the founder states and the strength it takes for her to survive.
While some founding members of Central’s Energy Crimes Unit appear, the spotlight focuses on the struggle of a new protagonist, Tissi, who must survive under the control of a Harrie-hating base commander with the aid of allies, not all of whom see the No-names as human.

Celebrating The Release of Endured By The Gods

I'm celebrating the release of my new book, Endured By The Gods with a GiveAway! One Hundred Kindle Copies of Endured By The Gods will be given away between January 7 and February 6, 2004.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

This is the second book in the Silent Consent series. This parallel story looks at the dystopian universe through the eyes of Erin Prax. She's a talented young Gen embarking on a promising internship at her district's most prestigious medical center who finds herself ensnared in a familial arrest. Cast down to the status of a No-name, she becomes the target of brutal treatment and degradation at the hands of sadistic Centurion guards, including Sal Mallory.

Reduced to a mere "energy unit," destiny has sealed her fate as a nameless machine in a centurion facility along the perilous border of the western frontier—until a dangerous skill places her on a work detail that could prolong her life just enough for the emergence of the inner strength needed to endure.

The narrative unfolds, tracing her journey from the days of being a self-entitled Geneol through her arduous struggle and gradual awakening, though not an acceptance, of her harsh reality as inevitable.

In this story, you will encounter some of the most beloved and hated characters from Silent Consent, as well as a host of new conflicted heroes and villains. Some friends betray her, but others strengthen her courage and help her endure.

Although Silent Consent sets the stage for the universe and its attributes, you will soon pick up the slang and understand the dangers that lurk for Erin as she struggles to survive.

Endured By The Gods is now available on Amazon!

Endured By The Gods, the second book in the Silent Consent series is now available on Amazon. Due to a weird glitch, the Kindle Version is not yet linked to the hardcover and paperback versions, so I've posted both links below. If you enjoyed the first book, you will probably also like the second. This parallel story follows Erin (=Tissi) and explores the same world through her eyes. You will encounter some of the characters from Silent Consent, including Diego and Garry, but in secondary roles, supporting a new cast who support or torment Tissi as her experiences as a first transform her.

Count Down to My New Book Release

My newest novel, Endured by the Gods , is ready to hit the shelves on Jan 1, 2024 Both the hard and soft cover editions will be released to celebrate the new year. But guess what? A quirky twist of fate led to the early release of the Kindle edition, which is already available for purchase and offers a sneak preview.

This is the second book in the Silent Consent series. Unlike its predecessor, this installment unfolds as a parallel story. The book draws you into a journey with Tissi, a once self-entitled Gen who suffers demotion because of the actions of a third-degree relative in a family demotion. Where Silent Consent witnesses the lives of Sentinals of West Central, this story follows the transformations endured by a self-entitled Gen and her fellow No-names as she becomes no more than a machine that talks.

Thank you for supporting my Giveaway!

My book giveaway was surprisingly successful (given that even I couldn't find it without the link). Nearly 400 people entered the draw that ended on December 1, World AIDS Day.

George Carlin, speaking about the drug culture of the 60s, once observed that if you remember the 1960s, you weren't there. For many of us, the late 80s and early 90s became a blur, not from intoxicants but from grappling with the pain and sorrow of the relentless loss of so many people so fast. Instead of forging ahead along our professional paths, we found ourselves ensnared in a relentless cycle of attending funerals, navigating through the grieving process, and bearing witness to the abrupt and heartbreaking loss of friends, individuals with whom we had envisioned traversing the journey of life.

As in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that plagues our present, the death tolls during the initial years of the AIDS pandemic happened alongside the normal daily challenges of life The AIDS crisis intertwined pre-existing prejudices, discrimination, and widespread ignorance, amplifying the sorrow and deepening the grief endured by the survivors, the friends and families of our lost loved ones.

The Prequel to Silent Consent is Nearly Here

🌟 Brace yourselves for a riveting journey with "Endured by the Gods," a gripping "prequel" (actually, more of a parallel story) to the saga of "Silent Consent." Set in the aftermath of Aaron Duncan's assassination, this tale unfolds in a different district, introducing you to a host of new characters. You will get to see some of your favorites from Book 1, like Garry and Gedeon. Even Diego and Carmen get their chance on stage. However, this time, they're not in the spotlight; instead, they play a crucial supporting role.

While "Silent Consent" focused on the Energy Crimes Unit as it struggled against the oppressive Founders' States, "Endured by the Gods" shifts its focus to the harrowing lives of a group of factory Nameless. In this intense narrative, you will witness their agony and dehumanization as machines, the sacrifices they make for one another, and their struggle for freedom and revenge.

You will delve deep into the shadows of desperation as the stories of the Nameless unfold. As the parallel story to "Silent Consent," "Endured by the Gods" will captivate your imagination and shed light on the resilience and sacrifices made by those fighting for survival in a level-one factory. Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you on the edge of your seat. If you haven't yet read "Silent Consent," now is the time to do so. The unfolding drama continues on January 1, 2024. 📖 #EnduredByTheGods #SilentConsentPrequel
