NaNoWriMo 2021: This Year’s Story

This is my favorite time of year as a writer. Ever since my first NaNoWriMo in 2015, this annual event has become a part of my holiday traditions.

Last year I participated as a rebel in NaNoWriMo, working on a rewrite of a previous novel I had written. This year I’m back with a new original story that I’m excited to write.

Suddenly, Omega

This year, I’m working on a story that I plan to publish first through Kindle Vella in December, before launching it as a novel on Amazon Kindle in ...

Transcendent

My latest erotic story, “Transcendent,” features my first transgender character, Cory Smith. He’s a Harvard MBA graduate who took time off to transition before starting his career. When he lands an interview with the VP of Marketing and Sales at his dream company, he’s excited at the prospect.

Then he meets the VP, Steve Worthingham, son of the founder and CEO of Worthingham Industries. Cory’s struck by the man’s good looks, but what he doesn’t expect is the salacious job offer he’s given, i...

What is Kindle Vella?

Recently, Amazon launched its newest writing platform, called Kindle Vella, which is currently limited to only the US market. The name itself is a play on the term novella, which is classified as a work of fiction between 17,500 – 40,000 words. Novellas are longer than a short story but not quite long enough to be considered a novel.

Serialized Fiction

Kindle Vella is a serialized fiction platform. The premise is to post a new episode of a longer story at regular intervals, and those inte...

Writing Serialized Fiction

In April 2021, Amazon announced they were soon launching a new platform for serialized stories, called Kindle Vella. This new platform will launch sometime this month. Amazon, in fact, just informed those of us who signed up to post stories on the platform, that we had a last chance to get our stories published before the platform goes live.

Serialized fiction is not a new concept, and it became popular during the Victoria Era, when most novels were published through weekly or monthly periodi...

Doing the Responsible Thing

When I began writing Enslave My Heart last November, the world was a different place. The novel was meant to be a fun, smutty story set in the backdrop of a world where our legalized form of enslaving criminals was far more open and culturally accepted than it is in our own world.

However, as protests erupted across the United States calling for justice for the murder of George Floyd, among too many others, I could not in good conscience continue writing my novel. The more I watched and liste...

Enjoying a Side of Pain with Your Pleasure

For anyone familiar with my writing, they know I have a fondness for writing stories that include impact play. Impact play is the use of either a hand or various implements that are used to consensually inflict various levels of pain. This is the sadomasochism part of BDSM (Bondage, Domination, Sadism, and Masochism).

People who do not practice BDSM dont always understand why anyone would consent to let another person inflict pain on them. Thats because they dont understand that the human...

Resuming My Novel

In 2019 I hit a larger than expected speed-bump when working on my next novel, Enslave My Heart. I had been making fantastic progress until mid-November, when I had a scheduled surgery. I expected the surgery to slow me down, but I was hopeful that I could get a lot of writing done during my recovery. Sadly, that wasnt the case. I gave myself a couple of weeks before trying to dive back into writing, but when I did, everything felt jumbled and out-of-place.

I struggled for a couple of months...

What’s Next?

I apologize for the radio silence on this blog. I spent most of 2019 in and out of the hospital and I underwent five different surgeries. Im all recovered and healed up now and hoping to blogging a little more frequently.

For fans of my work, I am working on my next novel. The first draft is still in progress, but I have settled on a title for the work: Enslave My Heart. The novel is set in a world where criminals must serve their sentences in slavery instead of jail. The prettier slaves are...
