NEW GIVEAWAY COMING!!!

Beginning October 1 and continuing throughout the month I'll be offering three (3) autographed copies of my Vietnam memoir, THE PROUD BASTARDS.
Here is a blurb about the book:

"As powerful and compelling a battlefield memoir as any ever written, Helms's "grunt's-eye" view of the Vietnam War, the men who fought it, and the mindless chaos that surrounded it, is truly a modern military classic."

My memoir has been in print for over twenty years. The current publisher is Simon and Shuster/Pocket Star. Good luck to all who enter! Thanks! --Michael

PLEASE SUPPORT "FIGHTING FOR DAVID" -- A VERY WORTHY CAUSE!!!

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS BOOK GO TO THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.

"FIGHTING FOR DAVID" calls us to remember that the most important ingredient in healing is love. David's story of love and healing has been an inspiration to the wounded warriors I serve. The generous donation of this book to the men and women of Walter Reed Army Medical Center has contributed to the spiritual and physical health of our Army and nation.

CHAPLAIN (CAPTAIN) DAVID W. PETERS
Medical Center Brigade Chaplain

From the Author, Leone Nunley: My reason for revising my book "FIGHTING FOR DAVID" is to raise funds to help our American Heroes, who are coming home from the war with severe TBI and other grave injuries.

The book has strong endorsements from Walter Reed, WW Projects, Lee Woodruff, and about five others.

The Wounded Warrior Project does so many wonderful things for the families with their family camps. I am praying the books will sell well so I can give as much as possible. To receive an autographed copy ($14.99), please call me at: 509-965-1490.

Thank you in advance for supporting this worthy cause for our American Heroes.

Synopsis:

Persistent vegetative state—that was the term doctors used to describe the condition of Leone Nunley’s handsome young son David following a horrific motorcycle crash. When doctors were prepared to give up hope for his recovery, Leone determined to fight for David’s future.

In this powerfully inspiring story, Leone shares her many trials—legal, financial, emotional, and spiritual—and amazing ways that faith helped her, and David, overcome. She also offers a unique and personal perspective on many of the questions raised by highly publicized cases such as that of Terri Schiavo: How much potential has God given the human brain to adapt in the wake of trauma? What is the dividing line between hope and hopelessness? When is life worth fighting for? How much time, effort, and money is enough to invest in attempts at rehabilitation—and how much is too much?

If you’ve ever wondered whether faith and persistence can be more powerful than a doctor’s diagnosis, look inside. You’ll find remarkable lessons on choosing hope over despair, opting for hard work over giving up, and erring on the side of love.
